Completed the game, 9/10 for me. For someone who lived through the days of everyone hating on RE5 and 6, when we thought the franchise was dying, it’s incredible we got so many fantastic RE games in the span of the last decade or so.
I’d prob put this at 3rd spot, behind RE4 and RE2R, but it’s a fantastic game.

They put some effort in Grace’s 3rd-person animations apparently so I think that’s the move

we in raccoon city now that was an incredible first half, already can’t wait to replay

Ngl, the combat is so satisfying in RE4R and RER, I think they can just lean in on the action in RE5. Especially if we’re getting CV , RE0 and RE1. The fans will be aight lol

Playthrough 2 done, only took 5 hours compared to 9 on my first. Could’ve gone faster but I wanted all those raccoon statues without looking them up.

Story still isn’t hitting for me. But I enjoyed the ride more this time.

Leon sections in first person give them a whole new feel, strongly recommend doing another playthrough like that. Grace third person is whatever, first person just feels right for her. Really need a fov slider immediately

This like a 7 or 7.5 for me ngl. The care center sections were basically perfection 10/10 but everything after that fell completely flat for me. Raccoon City section felt like a complete ps3 game, visually brown, and encounters were not at all interesting compared to RE4R. Felt like TLOU where they initially were gonna go for open world but couldn’t make it work and changed directions completely, I mean even the fact that there is a whole map you can zoom out of but is ultimately pointless…

lab section had some moments but still not close to care center design wise or conceptually. Honestly I think the care center could’ve been expanded slightly and been the whole game.

Edit: return to raccoon city could’ve been an insane game in and of itself, with the same culmination of a CURE but expanded upon. As it is, it feels a little undercooked that we literally get the CURE TO THE T VIRUS??? like that should feel like a way bigger deal
