photo mode is pretty cool
i tried that more enemies mod and that s*** is literally impossible on insanity
definitely made for just regular mode
did my 2nd playthrough on the switch 2 version and yea its a bonafide classic
honestly still really like the leon raccoon city section despite the lack of enemy variety, i do wish RPD was actually longer than it is instead of being a tease. more on the switch 2 version this was surprisingly a really good port of the game, i was fully expecting the raccoon city performance to tank like crazy since its the biggest part of the game but it ran pretty smooth the whole way, i only had some crazy drops in the care center section as grace with the zombies eating on the table and the room right above it lol, raised a bit of optimism for future switch 2 ports and would recommend copping it for anyone that has one.

They managed to crack it without any of the hypervisor stuff
Denuvo might really be dead that’s crazy

I am not well versed on the pirating scene. Could you explain what makes it impressive, because I see you mentioned that no hypervisor tricks were used

I honestly have a pretty limited understanding myself, haven’t personally installed one yet.
The way I understand it is, Denuvo is constantly sending pings to make sure your game is legitimate and that you own a license for it. Hypervisor is used like a Trojan horse to get under the Denuvo security layers, it can intercept or change those pings to make it look like you own a real copy of the game.
But for hypervisor to work you need to disable pretty much every major windows security feature. That turns a lot of people off it.

I have a very bare bones understanding, but the past couple of years the latest crops of denuvo games were basically uncrackable. The biggest denuvo cracker Empress retired and no one really took up the mantle. In general most crackers are in it for the love of the game, although some of them do take donations and whatnot, but its not a real job. Afaik a large part of Denuvo cracking is 'solved' (especially older versions), but it takes a ginormous amount of busy work, very particular skillset and of course with each new iteration, the Denuvo team tries to patch up whatever gaps there are.
Flash forward to a few months ago a new challenger arises in the cracker voices38, who slowly has been going through some of the bigger and newer omissions in the uncracked games list and just yesterday cracked RE9 (most up to date Denuvo), the OG way. The problem is that its just a single person (or maybe a small team, nobody knows) that does the cracking and it takes a month or more for a single game to be done.
The hypervisor method is a community driven one, in which you basically give up low level access to your computer and in a sense it sits between your physical hardware and the software/OS, sending false green light signals upward to the Denuvo checks that everything is legit. This method is a lot faster, in the last month or so pretty much every game worth playing has been opened up using hypervisor and there's a few crackers who employ that method. The problem is that it potentially poses a massive security risk with the low level nature of the crack.
From my POV, most people don't dare to risk their PCs with the hypervisor cracks, but are happy to see some push back against Denuvo, especially since a few months ago the scene was pretty much dead. I've already read that the denuvoless voices38 RE9 crack runs slightly better than an original copy with Denuvo.

@ILoveCheeseCake Thank y'all for the detailed responses. It was eye-opening. Sounds impressive but also time consuming as hell. Last DRM usage I followed was all the way back in 2009 with Assassin's Creed 2 lmao
I need that Resident Evil movie trailer that they just showed at that convention. (I hate that convention s*** too how they get the trailers all early and the rest of the online world gotta wait who knows how long lol).
But there is descriptions of the trailer and it sounds dope. Just like spider man and fantastic four this franchise has been rebooted like 3 times in the past 20 years. Hopefully this new director (who did Weapons) got it right.
bro dropped another trvth nvke on the masses
lol

Haven't played the remake yet but crowbcat is too stuck in the past and comes across as one of those miserable 30+ year olds who can't get over how the good old days are behind him
Some valid takes like the more cinematic camera angles in the OG, awful voice acting and basic environment assets being used. But if it's surrounded by s*** like more blood in the remake, the guy saying "Resident Evil - Four" on the title screen being removed
anyone feining for more leon gameplay and has the game on pc they got a mod that lets you play him to whole game + a mod to add more enemies
fairly challenging on insanity mode
