RE fam, would this be an okay first game for me to play in the series? Anything I need to know or watch in advance to understand?
the beginning gives you an option to recap the events of RE7. just watch that beforehand and you’re good
About halfway in playing through this I feel like RE7 is a bit scarier for sure but god damn bruh that doll/baby fetus part was something else lol It was just something about RE7’s atmosphere in that damn house, can’t really explain/compare but RE7 legit had me and my girl at the time shook for days

Should I replay RE7 first?
Damn I didn’t really enjoy Biohazard. It had nothing to do with zombies. Is this one any different?

Yeah you may as well, you can get it for dirt cheap and you can get through it pretty quickly

if the only thing you care about is zombies, you should stay away from this new trilogy of RE games

i definitely would. it’ll make for an awesome prologue to what happens in Village
i want them to do some cosmic horror interpretation on the next one.
probably have the mold combine with some other virus strain and create some cthulu type bioweapons.
honestly the mold is better than the T-Virus and allows for more creative purposes in enemy designed. This aint really about zombies anymore and you can't really make zombies scary tbh. Horror is now more or less about atmosphere build up like RE7.

The mold enemies in RE7 were the most boring enemies in RE tho

true the mold in that game was meh but i give it to capcom cause it was a new direction for them, but all the enemies in this one are mold enemies too i gues Cadou was the catalyst for the various changes of lycans, 3 daughters made out of flies, fish boss etc so in that regard theres definitely room for creativeness.

I enjoyed RE1,2 & 3 but maybe I anticipated different with Biohazard
It wasn’t bad, just a bit different. Would you say this one is better?

Yeah the baby fetus thing made me walk away for awhile. Grotesque horror usually freaks me out especially when it's in the atmosphere it was in. Dark and echoing cry's of a slow walking baby thing. It was straight out of a Silent Hill game lmao. A modified baby monster thing put me out for a while lmao.

Eh, I feel like the monster variety was definitely better in RE8. The molded was no different from the other. Slow walking molded, on all 4 molded, fat molded. In this one you at least get a different kind of monsters for each area. I think you might be a tad underplaying the monsters in this one. The 3 sisters, the cyborg lycans, the regular Lycans, armored Lycans, dual wield Lycans, giant mace Lycans, the giant, Ancient Beast, etc. The hide and seek boss battle was something different as well.
Are there any spider enemies in this one? These are huge turn offs for me
Nope. Just Lycans, Ancient Beast, Cyborgs, and other things. No spiders.

I'd say REmake 2 would be the best starting point for any newcomers to the series but 7/8 are also fairly self contained so it's not too big a deal regardless
When can we talk spoilers without spoiler tags cause I'm ready to talk about Ethan lol and the end of the game revelation lol
