Pacing feels weird in this game tbh. Felt like I was introduced to the characters in the passage and they all went crazy over the period of like one hour lol. Then the passage felt empty af for the rest of the game
Sticks out especially compared to something like Hades 2, which has a similar sort of structure.

Yeah I’m literally playing that right now too lol definitely sticks out. Thought Saros would be similar, where you find more people and bring them back to the passage, building up the hub.
Side note it literally took the game mentioning The Yellow King before I clocked it ripping from the Yellow King book, even though Carcosa was in my face the whole time lmao. True Detective szn 1 used the same inspo

You should have gone back to the passage a lot more, even if it was possible to move through the first six areas really quickly. I ran all the areas multiple times just to get as many audio logs as possible, so I was constantly redoing areas and returning to passage after the boss, sometimes 3-4 times before trying the next boss.
This isn’t really a problem if you were dying a lot, but it’s the exact same way in hades 2 so I don’t understand the point. If you just clear the hades 2 runs and don’t die a lot you miss like half the dialogue in the game lol

In hades 2 you miss a ton of dialogue if you’re really good and just progressing easily through each boss without dying much
Hades 2 and this game both kinda didn’t stick the landing though, I experienced most of saros by returning to passage a lot and redoing runs for the logs, even then I still thought everything didn’t connect in a satisfying way.
Hades 2 ending also didn’t hit like hades 1 with you and your mom on the Styx

Nah totally fair, I cleared like 3 biomes in a single run because I wasn’t really struggling and didn’t really understand the gameplay loop entirely yet so I think it definitely caused me to miss out.
Still, like Jerome is dead by end of biome 2 I would’ve liked to have seen and heard more from him as I progressed but they cut him short IMO. With Hades 2 it feels like it almost hardgates you until you upgrade more stuff where as Saros if you’re decent you can progress a lot quicker until like cathedral for me at least

Hades 2 incentives you to actually go and talk to people though. They give you charms and things that can radically alter the game, and entire modes are locked behind developing relationships with certain characters.

Alright? I don’t think every character in every game needs to give me a goodie so that I’m invested in the story
My point was either way in hades 2 or Saros you have to adjust the way you play so you don’t miss stuff, unless you die a lot because of skill level

Yeah from a new player perspective the game is a bit confusing, they should’ve forced you to return to the passage a few times at the beginning to teach players that there will be lots of interactions and stuff there.
Also the modifiers you can use to make the game harder should’ve been available from the get-go, a lot of people probably would’ve activated them early and died more
It feels a bit backwards that the modifiers only unlock early if you die a lot. It’s actually the pros not dying that would probably want them to make the beginning levels harder
God, I swear I keep getting hit by nothing in the King boss fight.
Think it might be the color of the arena f***ing with me or something.
Got the true ending yesterday and it’s a great game but they severely messed up the difficulty scaling, for a game that’s supposed to be a “challenging experience” this is one of the easiest games I’ve played in my life

well they let you control it, you’re free to overclock it, there’s a huge ceiling in this game. You can take on as many trials as you want before a run.
meanwhile you can make it a bit easier (can’t lock in after -3) or balance it by turning on and off certain trials to hit roughly 0
endings got me puzzled
What’s got you confused? Feel like I mostly understood it especially after reading about the blue precipice

Really? The conversations I’ve seen said the ending is vague and open ended, which is mostly how I felt. I guess I get what literally happened but not why any of it happened.
