I mean it's not abnormal for adults to go days or weeks without speaking to their parents. I often go a week or more without talking to my mom, and months without talking to my dad.

Doesn't mean their bad people. Their kids could be devastated about this and hating themselves for not checking on them. Or it's possible that Gene and his kids didn't have an amazing relationship for whatever reason and not speaking for extended periods of time was typical for them.

If this was indeed a monoxide leak, it's not like their kids calling to check on them or going over there sooner could've prevented this from happening. Just means their bodies would've been discovered earlier, which isnt really that significant

yeah it’s presumptive to paint his kids negatively there was a time in my life where I barely communicated with my parents maybe a few times a month never mind his kids probably being middle aged at the youngest with their own families

I think Gene died a natural death while Betsy wasn't at home and she was so sad and shocked when she came home that she probably killed herself with pills. That makes the most sense right now

I think the dog swallowed the pills when she fell on the floor, or it just knocked it over at the shook and died last. 😔

Hope it doesn't turn out that Betsy took her own life when she found Gene dead. She's only a few months older than my parents. Not saying she was young, but she still had plenty of life in front of her.
