    such a loss.

only really in the industry for a year & a half and shook s*** up in a major way. really wish he was here and we could see how far he could push it. Say what you want about his past and the controversies he had, but he had an authentic fan base and knew what his goals were both with music and with fame. I think the fact that he broke through at all shows how desperate the youth are for someone who's not a corporate creation but with him gone we get more and more every passing month.

big agree. i find consolence in the fact that with X it was less of a "what if" / "what could've been" type situation and more that his trajectory WAS "always there" / "a definite one" -if that makes sense. it was no denying that energy.

Fell in love with it from the first listen. even though that Kendrick tweet is such a meme, it was literally that for me: -raw thoughts (+ seeing that Kendrick tweet in real time like "okay dis GOATED goated" ) played it over and over on my first listen, and in the evening that same day i trekked through the city on my bike in the melancholic yet warm Autumn listening to it edit. one of my favourite first listens of an album

my bad fam, i did read "revenge", but the coverart made me think it was Jocelyn Flores for some reason ah yes Garetts revenge at the point this dropped there was a whole lot of his older material i hadn't heard yet (so i was lowkey out of the loop regarding his artistic capabilities and diversity etc) but i KNEW we we're in for something special when this dropped. also, he play gatar such a vibe put the replay button six feet deep the first days

edit: my bad fam AGAIN i thought the "remember listening on soundcloud when it dropped" was referring to the album 17
