Can’t even lie, the past year and a half, I was curious and critical of some of the designs and redundancy…..and so I’ve been sitting here and feeling like a jackass today. Not because the opinion was wrong or right, but more so because there’s a lot of things Virgil did that were really amazing and really shifted how I thought luxury fashion could be. Even off white, he Def incorporated his background as an engineer into that. I used to think that was so clever. But damn lost track of the good by being disinfatuated by what I disliked the past couple of years. Damn, you never know what the next man is going through. You start to think about certain virgil jokes that occurred past couple of years, and whether they were warranted or not, I admire how mentally strong Virgil was to say you know what let the jokes be what they are, even though he could’ve easily guilt tripped everyone to shut up given the circumstances he was under.
Celebrity deaths and tragedies in the social media age is really something new and strange. I feel like this personally is a teachable moment for me. Like public figures and icons are open for critique but if there’s really something they added to your life, and Virgil Def did that, why not lead with that because that far outweighs whatever you may or may not have been feeling from his output.
Virgil probably understood what a lot of artists never understand (cause we human) is that criticism of one’s work (even the most harshest) isn’t a criticism on one’s humanity.
Also that ppl on the internet just say the most outlandish/offensive s*** for clicks and likes. 9 times out of 10 don’t ever mean it. I think Vince Staples talked about it once
I remember wanting to major in architecture in college because of Virgil but then I realized you needed to do a lot of math for that lmfao
Don’t engineers do the math and architect mostly design?
I feel like they would be working alongside with each other so that engineer can make sure building can withstand natural forces?

When I was younger and even in my early 20’s, world felt and looked different to me. I felt invisible and didn’t really worry about anything
But now that I get older, everything looks and feel different. Constant anxiety about adulthood and what the future holds
