It certainly makes it less special

The prophecy was about bringing balance to the force and the sacrifice was about saving his son. He still did both of those

You guys still don’t understand why he threw the saber?

People in your theater might’ve laughed because they’re stupid but that was never a comedic moment.

Anakin’s saber represented everything bad in Luke’s life, the damn thing fell out of his hand when he got his hand chopped off. The other time he used a lightsaber was when he was beating the breaks off his dad with the dark side

Luke being a hermit ”loser” was also great, getting to see his whole routine was really reminiscent of his training on Dagobah. The Jedi ways up until this point caused him nothing but pain and caused him to create another Vader. We actually got a character arc with Luke

What can you say about this movie that was nearly as interesting as this lol

You really giving them that work

I see what you’re saying but it didn’t make for anything interesting just annoying for me, his relationship with Kylo was silly you ignite your saber above him while he sleeps then he goes and kills everyone in your academy and burns it to the ground? Nothing about Luke was good other than his conversation with yoda and his projection. You’re gonna let your bratty nephew restore the bullshit you helped destroy? I like Ben redemption arc in tros much more, shows he really cares for his mom but he’s in too deep and is afraid of being rejected until he realized how dumb that all was once she was gone. Plus reys lineage makes this much more interesting than “go away I’m not gonna train you” Luke. I like every Star Wars too I don’t like to s*** on tlj it’s just not great lol

I mean yeah, i can’t say it wasn’t impactful still but it just feels so wrong to have Palpatine alive and still kicking in this trilogy when his story was really the prequels and the OG.

    It just feels redundant

Bringing balance doesn’t mean ridding the universe of evil

    Lemme set something straight tho.

I’m not saying Luke was likable in TLJ (until he gets his act together and saves the day) but that’s the entire point.

a broken man, a shell of his former self could still re-surface from his depression and succeed.

I hear you. Doesn’t make the movie very enjoyable for me unfortunately

Why are people acting like Luke wasn’t a farm boy before his little one day adventure? It makes perfect sense he went to on his own to live off the land. That’s what he was doing 19 years before even wielding a lightsaber.

It’s like some frat bro being known in his college years for doing that cool party trick then getting pissed at him because he doesn’t even go out and binge drink since he got a job

He was floating all the way there in just raw bitterness

If they wanted Landon to be jannahs father then he should have been there with them at the Death Star wreckage leading all the ex stormtroopers

I respect your opinion bruh, i think giving Rey a lineage was a complete misunderstanding of a woman character and the themes TLJ set. She was important despite not belonging to a powerful family and now all of that doesn’t matter because it comes from being Sheevs granddaughter lmao
