This part might be even worse
We’ll have to agree to disagree
Always said when they got nothing else to say lmfao I’m dead
I mean I wrote that because I didn’t want to get into a long pissing match with you bevause I agree with your takes on some other shows, but I then typed out a whole pissing match post.
But honestly when someone has nothing else to say, they actually usually take one line out of a whole post and ignore all the other points made.

You’re the one saying you want the pissing match to be over with
do you want my rebuttals or not? You’re being contradictory
Cause i can give them, i don’t mind doing that.
I just figured you wanted to rant on and be done with it.
by the way this not serious lol you’re entitled to your opinion at the end of the day. I just wanna make that clear
Also why the f*** does Kylo stabs his lightsaber in the ground ????
bro I’ve never noticed all this s*** lmfao
He’s ducking the royal guard swinging for his head
He’s ducking the royal guard swinging for his head
Oh okay
It’s still s*** tho
I typed all that s*** so it’s only fair to let you have your rebuttal. The agree to disagree line was more to make sure this is amicable and not toxic.
Star Wars is just a fun popcorn flick to me so it’s nothing too serious. Personally though I think they would’ve been better off starting the story after Luke and the OGs had died off if they were going to go the route they did, and especially since they didn’t take any of Lucas’s ideas or suggestions. They just tore his story apart to prop up the new gen. They wanted to have the OGs in there for the hype and sales but wanted to do their own story with new characters.
I don’t see how it’s jarring when it’s evident in the original trilogy that Luke hasn’t been as optimistic as you would all think he has been.
He overcame an obstacle, yeah that’s great and all but change is incremental
It doesn’t happen overnight, and devolution of a character does happen from their own experiences
Failing his Sister’s son, feeling like he created a monster from his own fleeting fear
It would destroy your optimism
JJ may be a hack but i’m using that line as justification because i agree with it still, it’s not just something you can do at any time, and honestly you’re concerned with realism a little bit to much in this sci fi fantasy
If the good guys are constantly doing Suicide runs then yeah it ain’t gonna work out in their favor.
but when it becomes desperate times, s*** like this can happen.
It’s not that deep
Dude i don’t know what you want then man cause honestly the whole point of Kylo Ren in the first place is to be a deconstruction of the dark side mythos
if he had faced Finn and Rey in his best state then it would have been a clean wipeout, you have to write in scenarios for your protagonist to have a fair outcome against a more seasoned enemy
And I can use canon lore to explain how powerful someone is because it’s canon, if it was a non-canon story like Duel Of The Fates they clearly were
going with a similar strength anyway, he still killed Snoke who was powerful enough to link two minds together from millions of miles apart.
Also nitpicking fight choreograph, really?
You can nitpick all kinds of s*** if you really pay attention to most films
you know how many classic original movies (including Star Wars OG trilogy) have flaws in them? lmfao
Luke was a f***ing dumbass in rotj idk where people get the he is an amazing hero that can take down the first order by himself from

There’s flaws in classics for sure, but I can excuse a few small plot points. Like i can enjoy TFA even though i hated Rey going from not knowing Jedi’s were real to instantly being able to use Jedi mind tricks and a few others like that. But if there’s big plot holes, or just a ton of small plot holes, I can’t excuse them. I can’t tolerate as many as you did in TLJ, just like you can’t tolerate as many as your friends who liked RoS even if they agreed with you on all the bad plot points. (I know the difference is that you don’t agree with my points).
I’m the guy that will nitpick s*** though, can’t help it. Fight choreography is one thing, then there’s those stupid bombers lol, the ridiculous looking scene with Leia flying in space, the rose crash, Luke’s character assassination, Holdo keeping her plan secret to the point a mutiny breaks out, Holdo telling Poe to shut up and obey and not to think(sounds like some s*** the empire would say), the Holdo kamikaze, and I could go on and on with all these minor things that just add up.

They got legends canon all wrapped up in their heads
They got Kevin Smith brains

I never said he was a smart dude or all powerful. Just that he would never stoop so low as kill his nephew because he’s afraid of a new Vader. The scene where he’s wildly striking Vader down and he’s on the verge of patricide as Palpatine urges him on is powerful because he is able to hold back and spare Vader because he refuses to succumb to the dark side and because there’s still good in Vader. And he’s proven right when Anakin is able to take back control and throw Palpatine off the ledge. The creator of the character and the actor that lived the character agree.
While these films were mostly meh (I liked TLJ the most but that was overlong and wonky so it ain’t saying much) the John Williams scores are epic and keep me seeing these in theaters.

How is Holdo keeping secrets from Poe (a man who had literally disobeyed a direct order and got dozens killed by being reckless)
a negative attribute of the film’s quality?
She’s not obligated to share information with everyone who inquired about it, especially given the fact they might have thought that there was a spy onboard or something like that.
You see that’s my point, people are quick to be cynical and nitpicking every facet of the film that you miss the point of these scenes lol
Nitpicking Space Bombers like it’s suppose to follow real life physics
“It passed as quick as a fleeting shadow and i was filled with nothing but shame”
Bruh it’s not as if Luke is filled with hatred in this moment or something more sinister
The guy was just briefly scared. Scared enough to make the biggest mistake of his entire relationship with Ben.

He thinks about it for a moment and feels bad about it almost instantly. no nigga is just gonna see a future hitler and do nothing about it. Luke is just a nice guy who happens to be rebel hero.

I don’t know what Star Wars Movies will be like without John Williams GOAT original compassions in the future

It’s almost as if they don’t want to be challenged by their childhood characters
How boring would the movie have been if Luke is just happy go lucky like oh sure Rey i’ll train you to beat my nephew that i failed miserably all those years ago that made me set out to a remote locale hoping to never be found ever again
Luke a war veteran has vision of ben killing everything he loves
Luke: "Ben i have seen you use the dark side of the force and i have visions of you killing everything i love but i feel the good in you you'll be fine"

I’ll be honest i fell asleep the first two times watching it and was only able to finish it on the third go around so I may be misremembering this. But we basically see Holdo’s actions from Poe’s POV, and we’re kept in the dark of her plan so that Rian can give us a twist and show us she was totally right the whole time.
She’s not obligated to share all this information, but Poe isn’t just some dip s***(even though Rian turns him into one), he’s done a lot for the cause. He had just seen all these fighters get wrecked, his comrades dead. He goes to ask her if she has a plan, and instead of telling him the plan or doing anything to calm him down, she brings up the fact that he was recently demoted and just s***s on him. All she’s told about her plan was to “hold onto hope” and Poe(and the audience) is left to think she’s clueless and is just drifting off in space and is about to get them all killed. And it’s not just Poe because a lot of people join his mutiny. So her poor leadership leads to a mutiny. It’s all just dumb and contrived.
