We just in a perpetually worsening state of economic and social disparity. I don't think the "lower class" has any leverage or could even significantly influence anything so it's unfortunately just going to be the same for a very long time

Worst case scenario the people revolt but they'll just be replaced or imprisoned or killed if they try too hard

We won't be seeing any major revolution I think until s*** rly hits the fan overseas

Edit: after thinking about it, I'd be surprised if we see any major civil or international conflict in the foreseeable future

ISM Manufacturing PMI retreated to 46.8 in July, the 48.8 consensus, from 48.5 in June.

That marks the 20th time in the last 21 months in which economic activity in the manufacturing sector contracted (Note a reading below 50 signals economic contraction). The index now has been in contraction terrain for four straight months.

With new orders falling further into contraction, "demand was weak again, output declined, and inputs stayed generally accommodative," said Timothy R. Fiore, chair of the ISM Manufacturing Business Survey Committee.

    Gotcha

we've been in a recession for years now but no one in the govt will admit it because they fudge numbers
so when they say there's a "risk of recession" they really mean risk of depression
