been playing this for a while now and i can say they robbed this game fr last of us 2 is fine and all but this is the real GOTY
Another cookie cutter open world could not be my goty
i will never understand how people think GoT is better than tlou2
GoT won't be talked about at all in a couple years
GoT wasn't that crazy lol it's a good game and all but it aint really do anything ground breaking or unique
tlou2 just talking gameplay was elite
Great game but nah the right game won
Love both. Having GOT come out right after TLOU2 was a highlight of last year entertainment wise. And f***, ANYTHING wise, with covid/quarantine stuff
Both goat but I think TLOU2 is the bigger achievement and stronger game technically and narratively
i thought Ghost was a fantastic game but i got so sick and tired of people using it purely as a tool just to s*** on TLOU2. like let both games be great and stop bickering god damn. that being said i do believe that FF7 Remake deserved GOTY over both Ghost and TLOU2.

big facts
I really enjoyed both and don't think they can really be compared beyond both being 3rd person action games. But they both have some big flaws IMO.
GoT takes the dated ubisoft open world formula, makes it less generic, gives it incredible art direction, the best AC style combat without being a button masher or Batman combo-chain snooze fest, solid stealth mechanics and an interesting but straight-forward story. Ultimately I think it's the best version of a dated open world style game, if you haven't been worn out by similar games over the years (I personally stopped playing AC after brotherhood). The multiplayer is really fun for the kind of game it is too. Overall the art direction, style, and swordplay carries the game. For a fan of Kurosawa this game is legendary. Lot's of style, enough substance.
TLOU2 is a fun roller coaster. It has insane stealth mechanics, probably the best ever, better than MGSV. Visceral combat, the ability to go prone added a whole new depth to the game play that the first one lacked. The story is really good, not better than the first game, but not deserving of all the b****ing the internet gave it. The pacing really leaves something to be desired for me though. Playing through it once is great, but I could not give it a second go because it is sooooo slow to get back into the action. The combat is way too good to have so much downtime between fights with boring exploration and walking simulators. The first time you go to Seattle, it's open world, shows the direction they originally tried to go but ultimately couldn't, which is almost a shame because I bet ND's take on open world would be interesting and may have given it more instant action. I call it a roller coaster because after that brief open world part it goes back to great set piece after set piece ND is known for, but it's still on rails and some parts are more boring than others. The combat is so good that I'm fiending for that multiplayer to drop already, but it hasn't which for me is a big flaw because there's no other way to get right into action. TLOU1 multiplayer was phenomenal.
Incredible games with some flaws. GoT is a dated open-world game but art direction and style carries it, with very good swordplay. TLOU2 combat is amazing but the game can be too slow to put you in the action, it needs multiplayer for instant and dynamic action. Overall I would give GOTY to GoT as it stands because no TLOU2 multiplayer.

Your real for this one. VII was better than both and does more “different” things
Will play that soon hits the plus shop can’t wait
You’re definitely in for a treat. One of the best games to drop last gen and the soundtrack is god tier as well.
