Better than ex machina?
Ive always said i think ex machina is overrated AF, not even that fun the 2 times ive seen it and brought nothing new to the table in regard to telling a story about AI. Annihilation still peak Garland imo
Yeah i think the VVitch is much better but idek why you made the comparison in the first place tbh so random
I already said I hate everything everywhere, not just it’s a bad movie.
Which is exactly why the “is it not well received” argument doesn’t work.
EEAAO was very VERY well received and some of us (including you) disliked it.
Make a thread on it
i dont have a larger point and dont see it as anything other than nooooticing. id rather claim i was here first when everybody else starts talking about it

That doesn’t mean it’s bad
It means people didn’t like it

It’s not random, it’s very relevant to the convo. Internet Buddy and I were discussing which A24 films are the best, and ex machina was included in my list as being better than Witch and Lighthouse
People are waking up
keeping it a buck
i haven't seen or thought about it since the year it came out
i loved it back then, but it might be due for a rewatch to see if my thoughts have changed

Lol bro what? Rethink your sentences before posting them.
Go watch Miracle In Milan and get back to me or some Buster/Chaplin/Lloyd
I love whimsey
Fair enough
I'm still such a pleb when it comes to old films
I do think if EEAAO had come out in the 80s people would give it more grace, but imma stop debating the humor, s***'s a fools errand

The ‘80s? No one had that technology then

'80s already had Brazil it didn't need EEAAO
But fr check out Miracle In Milan it will change your whole perspective on '50s dust

I just mean that comedies in the 80s had a certain silliness to them
Most of them were sort of slop, and bad, but it's a contrast from how ironic a lot of the humor is today

I don’t need to. Y’all just can’t say “I don’t like that movie” You have to frame it as “that movie’s bad”
It’s not random, it’s very relevant to the convo. Internet Buddy and I were discussing which A24 films are the best, and ex machina was included in my list as being better than Witch and Lighthouse
Oh well since were doing that let me do mine no order and a max of 1 film per director to make it more interesting

EEAAO isn’t a comedy. It’s a drama with funny scenes

Brazil is def one of the greatest films ever made. Masterclass of wacky worldbuilding. So imaginative
