That's where I read it who knows. But common sense says they didnt just start on it last week and announcing it to us. If they announced it it's probably at least 70% complete.

the only way to make those kinda topics satirical is the south park way of writing stuff that gets aired in the same couple weeks. a lot of GTA V's jokes r super dated now and i feel like that could happen to VI before it even releases if they do f***ing crypto and elon parodies. they gonna do covid too? these games take years to create it's not snl

R* should either go back to the 70s/80s with some scorsese energy if they wna keep the humour or play it completely straight and give us some real dark characters that live up to the atrocities the player makes them commit if they wna set it in current day. watch dogs and saints row exist to be the techy/funny GTAs we do not need that

This optimistic af Games generally don't get announced when they're 70% complete. They announce games far earlier to increase hype and have enough time for marketing. GTA 5 was not 70% done when that first trailer dropped in late 2011, RDR 2 was not 70% done when it was announced in October 2016. Both games got delayed from their original release date, that wouldn't be the case if only 30% of development needed to be done in the almost 2 years from announcement to original release date
