Jason Schreier shares new GTA 6 details:

    • Pre-orders vastly surpassed Take-Two's internal forecasts
    • He expects the extended look on August 27 to offer "meaty" look at the actual gameplay
    • Strauss Zelnick told him in an interview that when the extended look goes live, people will understand why they chose Netflix for the premiere and stated that it's a "must-see event."
    • Schreier asked if it will feel like you're watching a Netflix show, and Zelnick replied:
      "Yes."
    • This marketing strategy aims to reach a broader, non-gaming audience or people who might know GTA 6 exists but aren't necessarily buying it day one
    • Take-Two isn't concerned about selling to a smaller audience, as the install base will be roughly the same as the install base was when we launched GTA 5
    • Schreier also asked him if he has big plans for November 19 like holding a party or taking a break. To which Zelnick replied: "It's ultra top secret at the moment, but at some point before then, l'll be happy to talk about it."
  • I’m definitely thinking the gameplay and presentation of the game will have a very cinematic feel similar to RDR2

This s*** gonna capture the entire zeitgeist on the 27th.

Everyone tuned in and reacting at the same time, closest comparison I could make in recent times is the when Family Matters/Meet the Grahams dropped the same night.

Imagine they show off shootouts with the police where you can bust into interiors on the fly, flip over tables for cover as SWAT units with FEAR level AI try to strategically smoke you out, surrounding the building, throwing in flash and smoke grenades breaking into the back door, all the while you’re on your cell calling in your partner who shows up to offer support so you can run to their car and the two of you take off on a wild ass high speed chase through the city.

You can see a news helicopter off in the sky filming the whole thing while the radio gives on the fly details of your location as they follow you (like how when you get wanted stars the police radio will detail your car’s color and model and what street you’re traveling on).

Thinking about the type of emergent gameplay you can get in RDR2 taken into a whole other level within the framework of a GTA doesn’t make this seem that far out of the realm of possibility, especially given the leaks concerning the patents they’ve taken out for NPC AI and dynamic animation work.

It's gonna be a smorgasbord of emergent AI functionalities interacting with each other on a level that makes RDR2 seem rudimentary

I feel like something they’re also gonna try to emphasize with this in depth look is the seamlessness of it all.

As in, you won’t really be able to distinguish what’s a main mission, a side mission, or even what’s just open world gameplay. Remove the HUD and mini-map from the presentation and just let it all flow.

  • Schreier says in his video that Rockstar have no plans on talking about VI Online anytime soon.

Wonder if that means it could be a year plus out from the single-player release.

In universe gameplay demo would be pretty cool. Like framed as a tv episode or something
