I swear to God if this s*** doesn’t have gameplay in it and it’s just a 5 minute compilation of cutscenes...

I don’t know, I think given the “in depth” description, I can see backlash if there isn’t obvious gameplay inclusion.
Reason why I think there would be, I explained earlier, but having this on Netflix strikes me as Rockstar attempting to target a demographic that is out of the loop/don’t really game, so in order to get such a group on board (especially to go to the extreme of potentially purchasing a whole ass console) you’d have to show something that absolutely MELTS minds.
A big cutscene extravaganza would likely just make these types of people go “Wow! Look at the graphics, it almost looks like a movie!” and that would kind of be the end of it.
You gotta hook em, make them constantly think “Holy s***, you can DO THAT? THAT can HAPPEN?! They have THAT?!”.
Emphasis on interactivity and reactivity, presented with a cinematic aesthetic, of course, but I feel like you’d also need to make it clear at points that no, these aren’t just cutscenes, this isn’t a “movie”, this is what playing the game actually is.
I’m not sure if they’ll go the narrator breakdown route given the platform, they might want to erase any sense of there being outside voices to further push the idea of this being a “filmic experience”.
should be gameplay but no hud and shows off an evolution of cinema cam when on foot/talking to people where they blend what it means to be in game or in cutscene
A date for online wont be announced this year nor should it. Let people enjoy the singleplayer game
I expect an Online release around Christmas. The millions of kids and RP fans aren't going to be content with playing single player months after release

They already testing people's patience fr. They know that they can't just show some bullshit on 27 August, the backlash would be crazy
We need some Uncles at Netflix to spill some specifics for us man.
Though I wouldn’t be surprised if Rockstar themselves aren’t gonna send the presentation for Netflix to upload until the absolute last minute to prevent any form of leaks.

Dont expect a online release that early while possible and I see your angle on the additional money. That is a month after release. They have to keep patching any parts of single player that break when that many people are accessing the game. Patching singleplayer to deal with all issues comes way before rushing to online to make more money.Because online will be many issues from the amount of people playing things they fix. Also developers tend to give themselves a little break or mini vacation to be with family around that time too. Once online drops it will be even harder for some of them to get that breather

Well yeah that was the exact reason to do Netflix and not Youtube for the first 6 hours

I mean they have said parts of the trailers already out are gameplay. I think most of the Netflix presentation will be gameplay with no hud or limited hud.Even though I personally like seeing the HUD too. No matter what it is some minds will be melted others will think its not enough. Many will question how it runs on a base console. Demo likely will be running on a PS5 Pro and will say that at the beginning of the video. "work in progress so frame rate will improve" some kind of indication or something like that.
I again wish gamers kind of matured from "graphics like a movie" . When we want to see what we can do in the game and mechanics because sometimes chasing graphics w****s especially on consoles limits the amount of mechanics and framerate. I am more curious about ai of npcs , enemies , friendlies. Places the player can go into and things they can do.
Interactivity and reactivity is important as you say.
from mintute one of the Netflix special yes people will be talking if the graphics are what they expected.
Gaming to me was so much better before it became so focused on being film and realistic. GTA always been inspired by film but able to be goofy and its own tone more similar to a tarantino movie. Eventually a lot of these games aiming to be film got like they were trying to be oscar bait or goty bait.

Didn't you say single player was basically done and the reason for the delay from May was due to Online?
Rockstar have insane QA on their titles at launch and this has been in the works for so long that I don't think the single player will require much attention post launch
V Online dropped 2 weeks after V. I can see them wanting Online for VI to be out ASAP so people can play it during the holidays. If they drop it after mid Jan - that's a lot of potential players who don't have the time anymore to play Online. So I give them like a month this time but it's coming December imo

Correct .
That doesnt change when any game launches as every GTA has with multiple millions of people playing it at once they find bugs that no 200 person QA team can find in india. Every single Rockstar game while less bugs at launch than their competition has had updates post launch.
You think their games havent had updates at launch?
they openly told you we arent going to talk about online for a little while its a single player experience at launch and you think it will take 2 weeks?
, “Right now, Take-Two is only talking about GTA 6 in terms of the single-player portion, which will not presumably have recurring revenue. I don’t think they’re putting microtransactions in the single player game and not GTA Online. They have not talked at all and they are not planning to talk anytime soon about what the new GTA Online will look like and what that recurring spend will look like.”
Not planning to talk about anytime soon sounds like a month after launch to you?
I am saying december is possible but they have to see how launch goes

Given the art they’ve provided with the announcement, I wonder if what they’re showing us is gonna be as simple as Jason and Lucia robbing a convenience store (not even as a main mission or side mission, but just a random activity), having the cops arrive and then showing off a shoot out followed by a chase through the city?
Something that appears very simple on the surface, but illustrates how complex the systems at play are and how their organic interactions with one another elevates the experience into something never seen before in a video game.
