Given the art they’ve provided with the announcement, I wonder if what they’re showing us is gonna be as simple as Jason and Lucia robbing a convenience store (not even as a main mission or side mission, but just a random activity), having the cops arrive and then showing off a shoot out followed by a chase through the city?

Something that appears very simple on the surface, but illustrates how complex the systems at play are and how their organic interactions with one another elevates the experience into something never seen before in a video game.

I think that would be a good sampling. Again I think they continue to do a few more episodes with Netflix. Doing it with Netflix to 100% avoid the leaks they previously dealt with on Youtube. As well as getting it to more casual people. One can be a heist as a side activity. One Main mission of some kind early in the game. Another just free roam and a day in the life of playing in the characters random activities more RPG side

3 of them are replies to other users. That is how a forum works. Someone post and you respond

    one day sooner

Some of us arent just using it for a public day countdown and are using the internet to interact with other users and have a discussion

    Another day closer.

    Correct .

That doesnt change when any game launches as every GTA has with multiple millions of people playing it at once they find bugs that no 200 person QA team can find in india. Every single Rockstar game while less bugs at launch than their competition has had updates post launch.

You think their games havent had updates at launch?

they openly told you we arent going to talk about online for a little while its a single player experience at launch and you think it will take 2 weeks?

, “Right now, Take-Two is only talking about GTA 6 in terms of the single-player portion, which will not presumably have recurring revenue. I don’t think they’re putting microtransactions in the single player game and not GTA Online. They have not talked at all and they are not planning to talk anytime soon about what the new GTA Online will look like and what that recurring spend will look like.”

Not planning to talk about anytime soon sounds like a month after launch to you?

I am saying december is possible but they have to see how launch goes

Single player will obviously have updates, but it'll be minor fixes and patches. Game at launch will be far from a Bethesda experience. After the game goes gold, they'll probably have a smaller team dedicated towards fixes while everyone else focuses on Online and that continues post-launch

With the fanbase V Online created, I think Rockstar knows they can't keep people satisfied with the single player alone when it's Feb and most people have finished the story

Wait, have they even confirmed that Online will be coming with the game? Insane outcry incoming if Online is a completely separate product that people will have to pay for. Sadly, I can see modern Rockstar/Take 2 doing something like this

Once they see they truly stuck the landing they move. Going Gold means something but cert also isnt the end all be all of a game this large. Stress testing it of that many people at launch is the true test.

Its possible. They have openly said they are marketing this as a singleplayer experience. I think in the end it will come with online because I think while they havent directly said it does. Not indicating that there is no multiplayer with a 80$ game til after preorders would be a bit dishonest

  • Aug 17

but they may get away with it because I am seeing nothing on the listing that list online play. which it kind of should list online play even if its not at launch

Just a simple, little store robbery could show off so much as well:

    • NPC AI
    • Interactivity with said NPCs and the stores themselves
    • Character Swapping/interactions in gameplay (maybe you can issue orders to one another to add a tactical element)
    • How the new wanted system works
    • Combat with the police
    • Enemy AI
    • Driving
    • Scope of the city
    • Density of the city
    • Random events in the city
    • How you lose the police
    • Possibly post-robbery social media activity featuring videos of the chase captured by random NPCs you passed during your escape.

    Lot of potential.

No but many are guessing 20-30 minutes. A hour is highly unlikely

Like a month ago they labeled it a single player experience and there were melt downs. I think it wont be at launch like gta5

Well 100% we know it wont be at launch but none of the listings mentioning online gives no guarantee if online is included or is a separate purchase of 20-60$ to get in the door then subscription service for RP+. Either way I think RP+ members get online first then others get it at a later date.

  • Aug 17

It's pretty obvious that they will launch Online in early/mid December

Oh yeah, it's a given that Online will not be available on 19 Nov. I meant if they're doing something like your $80/$100 only gets you the single player and you have to drop more money to get Online - that's not going to look good for Rockstar. But they're also making f*** you money and acting like it, so I can see them doing it that way

Damn, im hoping they drop a (no commentary) walkthrough like what CD Projekt did for cyberpunk

Because this is a Netflix joint, i wonder if they’ll turn this into a mini-series where each episode focuses on a core element like driving, gunplay, improvements to the open world, etc

They have never indicated in anyway that purchase of GTA VI comes with online so its in no way false advertisement.

I don't mean legally, just from a consumer/PR point of view

    No discs
Single player items/shops behind $20 paywall
    A trailer premiering on Netflix
Their internal practices also been catching heat (crunch, suppressing unions, removing work from home when they said they wouldn't)

If Online costs extra money, that's another one on the list. You know people are going to jump to compare and say V came with Online at no additional cost, Rockstar got greedy

Game is going to sell stupid amounts anyway, but this era isn't going well for Rockstar in terms of their image

I mean people defend this game with their life and havent even touched a controller or seen gameplay yet. Even if Online cost 20-60$ people will b**** but buy. We just saw everyone say 100$ for a game was insane anti consumer f*** digital only to Strauss saying thats the most preordered version which legally he cant lie about soemthing like that.

Even if they did get greedy people are going to buy . there isnt really another juggernaut live service game like that

I will be watching it many times that day. I will probably put a breakdown on or the gameplay on in my sleep to watch til I fall asleep . I am going to run it back that many times
