Yeah I mean GTA Double Pack was my first GTA but that was 2003 so by that point I had played many great games but that was one of the defining ones in vice city. Then 2004-2010 was kind of the golden age of gaming in general. Budgets were lower. Rollouts were done through magazines more than the internet. We would see gameplay of games each e3 besides 2006 when everyone lied a bit. Games would get announced then release within a year or two max.G4tv existed.

Now how it is with so many shareholders involved games get announced way too early. Get compared to other games with entirely different scopes so the AA industry kind of faded. Its nearly just AAA and indie. There are some levels in between but cost of production has gone up so much in America partially due to cost of living. Then remote work slows down game production some even if remote work is good for workers with kids . Because on zoom or slack doesnt compare to being in office and walking over to someone .

V was when I was in school for gaming. Was dope to see and friends and I played it . But that same year was Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite and man other games. V wasnt even my personal top game that year . Highly enjoyable though.

Now when one great game comes out people want to s*** on every game that isnt that game and act like other games cease to exist. As they do with every medium now be it an artist dropping an hot album, a movie or tv show.

I mean the takes are going to get even more abhorrent with 30 minutes of Netflix extended out. Its not going to change whether it is leaks or official. Grifters and engagement baiters will call it the coming of christ or extremely overrated. People will compare to trailers population density, graphics and gameplay hints. Anything that doesnt align with that there will be some level of complaints.

Reading some of the thoughts in general you would think some users have never seen a rollout from beginning to end of any game that they love

Entire generation of "its not that deep" "you're crashing out" any time you type over 3 sentences about any given topic. When it used to years ago be "wow let me hold a discussion with someone possibly on the other side of the world and learn something new". "damn I was wrong I didnt think of that". "wow good talking with you". When this game drops I will enjoy immersing in the world and not really even talking about the game on here or on the internet at all. People do too much and dont even have a passion for what they speak on anymore
