Most of their first trailers are like that. 4 just had a bunch of shots of Liberty City with Niko talking towards the end, RDR2 did something similar

I obviously can't say yet because I haven't played it but I feel like GTA 6's trailer showed more gameplay and plot details than those. Lucia being in jail, aquatic vehicles, swamps, the racing and clubbing scenes, social media, wildlife, the protagonists being in a relationship and pulling off missions together. It showed just about as much as the first GTA 5 trailer did

GTA Online is one of the most unfortunate things to happen in gaming.

One thing gta online does have with its actual missions however is good open ended mission design, like how gta 3 - SA was. Was less scripted and linear
