    They have varying sets of responsibilities, some exec producers will be way more involved than others

    But in general someone who oversees and is involved in the creation of the album, provides creative input

    Sometimes it’s not even real. Ain’t someone give exec prod credits to his dog at some point? Valee maybe?

    I think Frank Ocean did that for Channel Orange and the dog even won a Grammy

    Executive producers are the money men. Simple.

    They can provide ideas and other resources but generally they are the ones that make the financial moves, aka, pay everybody involved.

    The best example is probably Kanye on BP3

    Lead in the direction of the album/songs (told Jay to make a song dissing auto tune after hearing DOA beat), brought in features (Hudson, Cudi,etc..), contributed to production. Etc...

    Sometimes artists do just be around or provide some input and get credited bc they add clout but bp3 is a good example of what a good exec producer does.
