? PS4 was arguably their most productive era in terms of output. They cooked up a ton of new IPs lol

I mean sort of, but not so much in terms of direction, at least with the latter half of the PS4 era, where Sony started to realize that their output didn’t need variety anymore. The cinematic AAA blockbuster type stuff/ remasters were the move and it’s where we are at now

I mean they finally found out how to have their first party output sell well, something Sony has always struggled with. I just completely disagree with the notion that they coasted during the PS4 era. Tons of new IPs, new hardware beyond just the PS4, critical acclaim out the ass.

Perfect example: all this crying about how homogenized Sony's first party output is (which is completely overblown anyway), but aint nobody gonna buy Helldivers 2 even if it reviews well. Nobody bought Returnal. Nobody bought Gravity Rush. Nobody bought The Last Guardian. Who knows if the next Astro game will do well.

• Game pass is unsustainable; the market they have is not enough to offset the cost.

Putting new games that would be $70 on game pass first week is clearly not sustainable. They missed out on potentially $70 per game. Idk how they think they will carry this on other than putting a hefty price in the near future

Prolly have a 3 tier model with ads all baked in unless u get the premium/elite tier
