Italian fam here, but I love music and you can't escape Detroit. Too much great music, every genre. Put me on rap must listen from the city. I'm familiar with the new stuff such as Sada, Drego and Beno, Payroll Giovanni etc and all the legendary stuff such as Dilla, Apollo Brown and affiliates

I got you fam. Detroit rap pretty much starts with blade icewood. Blade was the first real street rapper from Detroit to make noise outside the city. Then there’s his group, the street lordz. That’s made up of blade icewood, street lord Juan, k deezy, chedda boy Malik, g rock, Jesse James, rook, and o-dolla. Blade got killed, Juan went to prison, and I think Jesse is dead now too, so they’ve been broken up since like 09. Then there’s the east side chedda boys. That’s tuff tones group, they beefed with the street lordz, tuff tone was apart of blades group but they started beefing and tuff tone formed the east side chedda boys.
Then during the same time there’s a bunch of smaller groups/rappers that were making good music. There’s k yay (I think he changed his name to kilo k now), big herk and his group rock bottom, stretch money and his group hot lava and east 94 boys. Then there’s the lodge boys, y.b.i , 5150 mentally insane, and the gratiot boys. Then there’s a million solo rappers like microwave man, macboi wahn, cash kidd, damedot, tape, tez, j nutty, 7 the general, and a million more.
For more modern s*** there’s the artists I named in my first post. But blade icewood and street lord Juan are the only 2 that matters, blade a legend in Detroit, same with Juan. Juan for real the realest rapper there ever was, listen to his whole discography, starting with his first tape mob inc. everyone here needs to know who Juan is.
You’re going to have a hard time finding a lot of this s*** online, prolly about half of it legit just doesn’t exist online. I’ll post links later on tonight when I have more time.

There’s a f*** ton more too. On my pc I have a long ass post made up with all Detroit rap history, rappers, and best songs, I just haven’t gotten around to finishing it, i be getting drunk too much and s***posting on here lmao. I’ll tag you in it when I post it tho Fa sho.

Holler if you want any more recs or need help finding anything, I got you fam
