Glad this ending wasn’t the one we got, it’s too dark. Julia getting a somewhat happy ending in the final version makes it more enjoyable and bittersweet, this would just be depressing

It was in the works for 10 years give or take, for various reasons they pushed it back and went along to make Good Time instead. Lots of it was cause the lack of resources, availability, Sandler and the time they were set to portray — before KG, Stoudemire & Kobe were in talks

They’ve been pretty vocal about their process through most interviews and pods, really intriguing stuff

Julia, Howard, and one of his employees are all there during the Celtics game climax in the jewelry shop and all get killed by the goons at the end. Arno’s character supports it and doesn’t get killed.
