    Mr Motion

Similar feelings. He just said more eloquently than I would. I didn’t love the ending, but didn’t hate it either. Just felt a lil undercooked.

Something I like and hope becomes a trend, call me woke idc but Top Gun: Maverick did it too, where the antagonizing hostile country was never named, left very ambiguous to the viewer but not in a way that all affects the narrative. Similar here the “we’ve made a lot of enemies” line is less ambiguous but doesn’t pin you down anywhere. America is a country of immigrants, so when movies always use a particular country vs America it kinda always makes me feel a type of way being the son of immigrants. You’re effectively villainizing a section of American citizens who might have immigrated from that said country.

Like Tears of the Sun is really the first movie I can remember my brother buying for our dvd player when I was a kid for some reason. When I got older and actually became aware that Bruce Willis is killing Nigerians s*** made me feel a way

I feel this so hard as a Mexican/black dude I’m like why everytime someone in a movie is in Mexico it’s straight dirt poor and a yellow filter on every scene

it’s funny i just got done binging the sopranos for the first time

then i watch this, with no clue about the content of the move or how it ends

maybe watching a perfect example of the ambiguous ending is making me judge this harshly.

but this ending is absolutely terrible lmao like it’s a difference between not telling us whether a character lives, or who the true villain is, vs not resolving many of situations characters are going through

there are a lot of great ideas but the movie feels like it gave up early

a movie being 2 hours and 20 minutes and not really picking up narratively until nearly an hour in, and then feeling like it’s missing at least 40 minutes on the back end is kind of a slap in the face lmao

and there are too many painfully un-subtle moments in the movie for the director to all of a sudden say “alright now you make up the last act for yourselves” lmao
