Edit: I made this thread in response to the poster @‘d above. I’m good, y’all can stop projecting your insecurities and failures onto me, thanks.

Just find a special someone who likes the same s*** you like, it gets better 💯
i feel like 3rd places got cooked and consumerism is at an all time high that's made people a lot less hopeful making friends.
try volunteering with people or dogs maybe even nature preservation
going to small business events in your city
picking up cooking courses, college courses
basketball pickups,sports groups
film festivals
church if youre into that
honestly just keep up with whats being offered in your city and you should be good.

finding one person isn't enough though how much empathy and insight can you gain on the world and other people through one person

Bruh I met my current girl, soon to be my wife six year ago, I could just feel it in my bones she was gonna be apart of my life for the rest of it. You just ain’t met them yet.
But as a man, every other man you see as peer feels exactly like you rn, trying to pave their own way. Pave that road and if they’re truly your homies they will be waiting at the finish line for you to enjoy the fruits of your labor as a unit, a family.

i found that special someone and also stay making friends as a grown man

Me too tbh, but I work as a firefighter, very frat house like lifestyle. I know there are tons of dudes who work in a corporate office where they feel like they can’t be themselves 5 days out the week, it’s hard out here

i think almost everything worth doing is hard at the start but once you in the rhythm of it it comes way easier. like it starts to snowball at a certain point
I’m 40 and I still make friends all the time
My idea of what a “friend” is has changed tho because I have a family and enjoy my solitude
I enjoy the type of relationship where I can not see you for 6 months and when I do we immediately click like we hang out everyday

that's horrible advice lmaooooo

What are you on about

Yup. In my experience it feels easy it’s not something you should be doing and I know that sounds so corny and boomerish but you’re just not growing if you’re always taking the most comfortable easy route, to an extent
I had completely lost all my friends after 25.
All that matters is your family, your health, career, and God
I only speak to cousins and coworkers
It does get lonely sometimes but I do like all my free time
I gotta find a wife tho lmao
You like nerd s***, go to the comic store for dnd night, you like artsy types go hit a slam poetry open mic, you a s*** poster thru and thru go hit a comedy open mic, family man find a church, your tribe is out there waiting for you
Growing up I ain’t really ever had a “best friend” I sort of did but they ended up going to different schools and we didn’t really keep contact. After that in HS I had a few friends and one was close but when I told homeboy you my best friend he just looked at me and he was like oh nah I got one but we cool bro… he never really wanted the best for me and I could tell everything was competition for him. So f*** that fool

I know what you're saying, something like, put your head down and grind? I know you're really hopeful you'll succeed and your friends will succeed, but that's not always the case. To help people and those that we want to share the fruits of our labor with we need knowledge, which comes from talking to other people. We need to talk to each other to shape our world views, maintain empathy and make better decisions.

I never really had a bestfriend either that concept faded away for me a long time ago. I feel like I put a lot more pressure than needed onto what friendship is because I was so lonely getting moved around schools. Rather pursuing a deeper connection with someone I find just making and maintaining friends EQUALLY in different areas of my life(gym, school, work) is a lot better.
thought this was gonna be a cute uplifting thread but nah op basically said kill yourself s*** wont ever get better

It’s this simple. It’s uncomfortable at first but I’ve met a lot of good people by just joining local stuff that is related to s*** I like. I’m 25 and still making new friends I get along with, it ain’t over at 22
