It is truly tragic how many black geniuses don’t make it past their forties and fifties. D’Angelo, Prince, MJ, Michael K Williams, Whitney… list goes on… All should have been up on stage or in the booth or on a screen into their 70s and 80s like the guy in my username, Paul McCartney, etc.
Just heartbreaking and so surreal that he’s gone. Feels so f***ing cruel. Sometimes with an artist you love you think to yourself ‘man I hope they never die’ but I never even considered the fact that D’Angelo would.
Hope his son has support and space to heal. Can’t imagine the year he’s had.

In my 20 plus years of knowing his existence I would have never have thought bro was 5’6. Cause he was so jacked I always assumed he was like 6’2 when he’s Kendrick’s height.
Either way I Found My Smile Again one of my favourite ever songs.
