repair shops, especially dealerships, scam the s*** out of customers and really prey on the fact that the vast majority of customers bringing their car in for service aren't educated in mechanical s*** at all.

so you're essentially trusting that these guys are going to be honest and truthful and take care of s*** correctly. the problem is a lot of these places are run by scumbags and only care about maximizing the money they bring in.

especially in these times post pandemic. with pretty much every business understaffed, you better believe they're cutting corners and not spending labor time and parts on fixing s*** correctly. they're just half-assing and they try to smooth talk the less educated customers

A dealership just a few months ago tried weaseling out of honoring an extended warranty on my dads car

It’s like you have to play hardball with them when it comes to buying a car, and then even after that you still have to fight with them over repairs. It’s never ending lol

Dawg I drive an extremely similar chassis to you and I did it myself in my driveway for about $100 in parts. He's robbing you blind

That's probably 1-2 hours labor max, $100 parts max

Mechanics not fixing cars and telling you it’s good to drive sounds like a good lawsuit if something were to happen to me. Idk if you could ever pin it on them though
