idk how nobody has posted this

i know this movie gets its d*** sucked but i don’t care, it’s one of the most incredibly constructed films ever imo

the build up to the climax is just perfect, + from when the husband combusts to the credits is legitimately some of the scariest s*** i’ve ever seen. even a few months ago when i watched it i was dam near shaking.

it doesn’t help that the themes + subject matter gets to me like crazy, the scene where toni collette is screaming after it happens made me leave the theater on my first watch for a second, cuz… dawg…

but yeah even tho there are some minor shortcomings this movie is near-perfect + im so hyped for disappointment blvd

Part of what makes this final sequence perfect, at least to me, is that the movie makes you care for these characters more than most horror movies do. So the inevitability of it all, as well as the absurd brutality, creates a tragic mix of grief and terror
