He made like 10 solo albums in the 80s and 90s, was the first true solo rap star, paved the way and set the stage for why an MC is in many ways, multiple classic albums, many classic singles. People without solo albums can’t be in the conversation with him
Outkast did the same thing with less albums put out and CONTINUE to influence even the younger generation.. so what are you saying? lol

jeffpesosI’m in my late 20s, but even if I was, what’s the suggestion here? Never has anyone ever seriously considered Andre the greatest ever. Only on this site would that be a thing. Jay, Nas, Ye, Drake, Rakim, Pac, Big, Eminem, and maybe a few others are commonly considered in contention for that top spot. Nobody ever mentions 3K lol I hate typing these things because I genuinely like him, but cmon man. He has never even released a solo album. Stop it. Is he a great? For sure. Lyrically, musically, and culturally he is a great. He could never be considered THE GREATEST tho

That’s a group though, not an MC. LL cool j did it as a solo mc. Since when is having less albums a good argument lol the work that these dudes put in matters. It’s part of why Jay and Nas are so far above Andre, not because they’re better in a vacuum, but because they actually put in the work and have much more evidence to go off. To be in the top 10, you need solo rap albums. S***, AT LEAST ONE lol
