If you STILL think AR = Assault Rifle you should go ahead and log out.

honestly if you have less than 10 followers nobody should take your post seriously on any topic i don't care

No one has ever explained to me why they need an AR-15 besides "Because I can"

I’ll get rid of my AR when every fascist and racist in this country gets rid of theirs

Try not to use .com articles like that in discussions since they're not always credible. Here's a better link

    https://www.vpc.org/studies/ownership.pdf

It's definitely gone down, not by a lot, but the peak looks like around 47% in 1973

Bro are you really trying to argue against the fact that it was easier to own a gun in the past? That’s insane. You must realize this only exposes your lack of knowledge of this topic and American history.

It's time to evolve tbh. Any uprising against a tyrannical government is going to be 95% cyber attacks anyway.

First and foremost, rest in peace to the children who were killed. I’m not a praying man, but I’ll say one for their families. Absolute nightmare and I truly hope they find peace somehow.

I’m getting to the point where I’m thinking that we need drastic measures. Every gun, bullet, and accessory sold needs to be able to be tracked, both for retroactive accountability at whatever point down the supply chain the oversight process broke down and for proactive prevention of sale to people who shouldn’t have them.

But that’s not going to be the end of the story. In addition to bolstering mental health services (which, no f***ing s***, but this country clearly needs to keep being reminded) we also need to set up some sort of mechanism to track/manage files that can 3D print weapons. We need to bring them into the light before they get out of control. They may already be out of control, frankly, but literally the least we can do is make sure that it’s easier for a law abiding gun owner to get their gun and materials through a process with oversight.

Because at this point, they’re not giving up their guns. And anything that looks like it’s going to encroach on their ability to acquire more guns will only cause more stockpiling behind closed doors. American gun culture has burrowed deep enough that we have to operate under the assumption that one way or another the people that want a gun will get one. And frankly, fine - we just need to do our best to have oversight, because otherwise we’re accelerating down a dark f***ing path with our heads in the sand and no recourse.

Alternatively, we could do nothing and continue to see headlines of murdered kids that don’t even phase us. I can guess which option we’re going to take, but I’d love to be wrong.

If republicans gonna be this nonchalant innocent people dying, especially children, then they need to keep that same energy with all the military deaths they always cry over. F*** veterans, Memorial Day, all that bullshit

I mean, effectively yes. Prohibition doesn’t work. Legally accessible harm reduction is much more than we’re currently doing.
