Critics underrating a movie and a movie being underrated are not the same thing.
Well yeah you have ratings from critics and you have ratings from the general audience. That’s why I pointed at RT and Metacritic
Critics underrating a movie and a movie being underrated are not the same thing.
this is true
this movie is really good and I wouldn't change the casting of De Niro and Pesci and Pacino because they are each excellent in their roles.... but the de-aging is a clusterfuck. and I don't mean that it looks goofy... I think it looks fine but to me they just look like old guys throughout the whole movie. i'm watching like "wait how old is he supposed to be in this scene?". he's supposed to be 35 but he looks 60.
I actually wish they would have done more de-aging if they could have pulled it off.
rewatched this yesterday and man... beautiful film really. very subtle, very lowkey film. love the comedic elements. dialogue is fantastic and all these veteran actors are giving great performances but man is De Niro just a master at his craft, he plays this character so well. Pacino is so good. such a prideful and pitiful character. oh man so good. def one of those films you have to watch twice or three times to get the details but boy those last 30 minutes just essential to Scorsese and all those guys legacy. important work.
