Movie is hilarious one of the funniest of the year. Still think we should’ve got to the marriage quicker they could’ve chopped off at least 30 minutes from the first half, not have missed much, and movie would flow better imo. I’m a fan of Baker’s day in the life of a crazy world style so I pretty much knew not to expect any huge character development from any of the characters lol. Doesn’t detract from my enjoyment but I can see why some wouldn’t like that if they had certain expectations going in.

I got a lot of Zola vibes from this and I also felt Igor was similar to the Willem Dafoe character in Florida Project being the only empathetic voice of reason.

True and didn’t you have an article that said True Romance original script was huge and he was able to make like 3 movies from it? I’m sure that happens often where a filmmaker has an idea that can go separate ways but instead of cramming it all into one they’re able to create multiple so they can spend more time on the differing themes

Yeah so True Romance at one point had elements of Natural born killers, pulp fiction and reservoir dogs in it.

I can’t 100% remember if RD was also part of True Romance cus I also remember reading RD was originally a chapter in Pulp Fiction back when it was gonna be made by 3-4 other directors.

Ima have to re read that article but yeah I think QT wrote a gang of s*** for True Romance, and the main character was writing a screenplay which turned out to be Natural born killers. It also had side stories that later became Pulp Fiction. And then when he went to make pulp fiction with some other directors, his chapter was gonna be RD and then when the project became all his, he made RD its own movie and took the side stories from True Romance and fleshed that out into Pulp Fiction
