gucci's influence on the game is undeniable, at this point. s***, if someone said he was in their top 5, i wouldn't laugh at it. that video makes wayne look like he wasn't familiar with all the bricks gucci laid down over the years. now you see just as many gucci disciples as you do wayne clones these days, if not more.

eh, jeezy should be ranked higher. he has that reputation and status down south, and he has 3-4 great albums, unlike gucci.

there are a lot of guys that have that reputation of being able to drop great tapes but they cant deliver on big albums.

Jeezy is a legend too, but didn't have the lasting impact on this generation or the one before. It takes more than one classic album to achieve that. As much as I love TM102 and The Recession, neither one of them are classics.

he has a better album catalog than gucci and he has a collection of great mixtapes as well. best of both worlds

he dropped his debut in 2005, and pretty sure it wasnt even grammy nominated. neither was games documentary. both classic debuts. competition was fierce back then

waka flocka for example might have influenced and be more popular among current generation listeners and artists (flockaveli), but jeezy helped lay the ground work (with gucci) and foundation that allowed dudes like waka flocka to do what he does.

i think the fact that jeezy stayed true to himself and went #1 multiple times and went platinum multiple times, speaks for itself. dude crossed over successfully. gucci struggled in that regard.
