what song(s) push section.80 over the edge for you?
not sure if it's even about songs like that for me. The rich, melancholic jazzy production, lyrical quality and interludes that tie it all together stick out to me
SFG has its own vibe too which is perfect in its own right but S.80 can just blow me away with its lush moments
aint going to hold you mixtape Wayne is unstoppable.
now if we want to compare classic studio albums
you got
Carter 2
Carter 3
Like father like son ( )
vs.
Black Album
Blueprint
Reasonable Doubt
4:44
American Gangster
WTT
Why limit Wayne to just albums tho. His tapes count as apart of his discog imo.
If you don’t wanna count Wayne’s tapes then yeah I’ll give it to jay but I think that’s kinda unfair
Yea but I don’t, they can see it how they want but I think it’s mostly bullshit and I don’t care as much about “winning” or “rings” in music as much as other factors
i'm not mad at that
cause if we wanna talk music
you already know charles is up there
haha

oh then if we do that Wayne top 5 no doubt. might be number 1 tbh.

really well said
thank you for sharing
look at the way kendrick approached GKMC
and all his albums
it's clear he's aiming for classics
why?
he needs rings, fam
this s*** is basketball
So which is a ring tho, a classic album or a hit record or something?

a classic album i'd say
but some could argue a hit is a ring as well

tapes arent studio albums tho. its just that, its a mixtape. classic albums decide these debates, imo

Tbh I’m not even straight up saying Wayne has a better discog than Jay but @Teal_ said it can’t even be argued

Since when? Mixtapes have always been a hip hop staple. You can’t mention Gucci and not mention his tapes. You can’t mention Jeezy and not mention trap or die

under the circumstances of studio albums alone it cant be. Wayne is hard to compete with just cause of his influence overall. other than Ye man has so many sons in the game

If it’s classic albums then there’s like 50 people with more rings than drake

Yeah I’ll give you that. It really depends on your definition of discography
gotta choose
So far gone has better melodies but S80 is by far better in regards to rap.
Section 80 is the technically better tape but SFG will be remembered more.

!!!!!!!!!!!

gotta have the other factors too though
which is why we always land on the same top 5
pac big jay nas em

If we're talking albums, I still stand behind that

and thats why gucci aint in the conversation unless its someone whos a gucci fan, or from the south. never seen a top 5 discussion seriously include gucci mane.
even wayne himself famously looked confused when someone put gucci mane in their top 5 and excluded a bunch of other legends. cant remember their list off the top of my head
