I would say SFG by a landslide but I've never actually listened to S80 in full.

i don't know that jay has a better discog than wayne and kanye either for the record

that would be a good debate

my point is, what Drake means to hip hop at this point is undeniable

and the only person who can say they are greater in my eyes

    is Jay

and that's only because he was the first true goat imo

    truly like Jordan

You can easily say Wayne is greater than jay z.

We should really stop tryna force these nba comparisons. It’s cool as a joke but in all seriousness they are two different mediums

and i do plan to do a video about the similarities between drake and bron

because i feel like they are both goats for similar reasons

they had to find their own way

Bron going to Miami to get his first ring changed the game

Drake rapping and singing had a similar effect

    look at them now

the only people able to make a real claim at being the goat

I think you can say Wayne might be more influential than Jay but
Jay has the longevity and better discography in my opinion

excluding that Wayne a cheat code if you count the mixtapes.
like having Ye be able to count the albums he produced

i think as a whole hip hop should count mixtapes

especially with what happened in the blog era

    but i definitely feel you

with the way we currently view things

it's pretty much just studio albums that we judge people on

not just your opinion. it's an actual fact lol which hurts to say, because it could've been the other way around if wayne put more effort into crafting bodies of work

how do we view Big KRIT if his tapes are dropped as "albums"

yeah if we want to go with counting mixtapes.
Wayne might come out on top just for that alone.
s*** 50 and Dipset have to be mentioned cause mixtape rap everything changes in my eyes.

it always baffles me when people feel weird about putting drake in the top 5

i feel like he's the only person who can beat Jay-Z at this point

what he did for R&B as a rapper is unheard of

    his influence is undeniable

    and he's still going

i feel like Jay is Jordan

    and Drake is Bron

The problem is art and sports parallels don’t really work imo. So much of Jay and Drake’s accomplishments boil down to capitalist achievement, they are two of a kind but I don’t weigh that stuff as highly as some others seem to. I’d rather talk discography and Drake has one of the worst album discographies of any goat contender. His discography is like two steps above Snoop Dogg

Ran rap longer, had a higher commercial peak, more influential,

Wayne was just putting out too much.
I think in a way Drake learned from that. Drake drops something every year but not to the extent like Wayne. man was dropping 3-4 mixtapes a year and still releasing albums

It does become a subjective argument tho because the question is would you rather have a moment as high as Wayne 05-09 or BIG 94-97 or spread that out through 20 years like jay? That part is debatable, jay was barely ever even the top rapper, is being consistently #2 forever really better than being #1 for a couple years? I get why people tend to give jay the credit for the longevity but I don’t personally feel like that should be the end all be all

Drake run actually already surpassed Hov’s a long time ago as far as actually running s***
