Have at minimum 1000 hours across other fromsoft games, just now getting to sekiro (skipped it bc it looked ass and it looks like I was right)

I’m assuming that anybody who enjoys this game hasn’t played any other fromsoft games because this is terrible compared to their other projects

I’m not that far in (3~ hours) so im just going off my initial impression of the core game mechanics and they stink

Lmao I was just like you OP never f***ed with sekiro and tbh it’s still not my favorite From game but it’s solid.

It’s not a soulsbourne game tho fr it’s like a stealth game with some boss battles.

I had to watch a youtuber play through the first area to get a sense of how to play. Basically stealth and run behind enemies for insta-kills and run away to de-aggro and reset enemies cuz it’s not like soulsbourne where you can handle multiple enemies for the most part.

I remember lining up at GameStop to buy this game on drop day; hours spent waiting in the cold and rainy temperatures as I eagerly anticipated so ending countless hours battling with my friends.

I got home and quickly put it into the disc drive, giddy with excitement as it downloaded and the start screen initialized.

Then my big brother came into the room and said brashly “What kind of queer s*** is this? Do you have no idea what kind of stress and shame you put this family through?”. So like my favourite characters I had spent hours fantasizing about from the trailers, I drew my sword and slew him where be stood.

Then I woke up lol and realized I was just having a meth-induced hallucination. My family had been dead since the accident and It was all my fault.

Anyway f*** this game.

i dont even really play dark souls-type games but sekiro is like the nicest looking out of all of them

step dodge mechanic especially seems trash to me compared to how bloodborne did it

deadass same I literally copped it and played maybe 3 hours before uninstalling cuz I didnt f*** with it. Finally went back to it after like 2 years and I’m about to platinum it

But yeah watching a youtuber helped cuz it does not f***ing play like the other From games. I watched like the first 2-3 videos of a walkthrough, got me settled into how to play.

Plus you almost basically never hit O to dodge unless you’re just making space, in this game you wanna panic spam L1 instead of O.

Lmaooo in fact you can beat most bosses and enemies just by spamming L1 and then getting timing L1 down to parry them. And almost never take on more than 1 enemy at a time

I haven't even played Sekiro yet, i don't really have the time for it

Just saying that it looks literally the same as any other From Soft title, maybe even slightly better than most since it's the most recent they put out. So that's why i think it's kind of strange you were saying it looked s***ty before you even played
