almost the entire entertainment / creative industry is sick & disgusting at the top. For the most part I don’t let it stop me from consumption. I just assume everybody’s dirty as s*** and move on with my own life.
Trippie redd might make mid ass music n act a fool, but he consistently real abt this s***.
“A lot of artists that made it are evil, hearts black as tar, yeah”
Yeah but I’m not asking u to speak on it lol
I’m asking u if u think that it’s the morally right thing to do when u listen to and support them lol
they’re not actually doing it which is different from rapping about it so it’s empty gestures
R Kelly was singing about kids while f***ing kids, whole other textbook
This whole site picks and chooses who to do it with depending on whether they like their music or not. Pointless question

Oh ok so u wouldn’t listen to people like 21 Savage or Chief Keef who did some real s*** then? And u would call out everyone who listened to them right?
It really depends. Like every time I listen to a car seat headrest song i think of will toledo and cannot enjoy it in any capacity. If i dislike an artist it’s much harder for me to enjoy the music because all art is not created in a vacuum.

this is 100% true. im pretty consistent with my feelings tbh. it's very easy for me to separate them cause I always try imagine their music in the context of my life.

Lol what’d he do?
If we dealing with rape, killing, endangering children, racism
Then f*** em
Other than that ehh
R Kelly was singing about f***ing kids don’t you love listening to people singing about f***ing kids? It’s okay because i think abt this cute girl in my head when I think about how R Kelly sings about f***ing kids so it’s okay.
Exactly. I'm a grown man I'm not gonna let another man police my thoughts and force me to think about a song in only one way.
I'll make my own interpretation and vibe accordingly.
Lol what’d he do?
I honestly just hate his entire personality. He is insufferable. From being a furry, to anytime he decides to express his opinions, to the ridiculous illusions of grandeur he has about himself. I’m honestly a hater, there’s just something about him I’ve disliked since that horrible Ivy cover he did like 4 years ago now.

Here’s an interview that best shows what i mean. Just like the way he talks
about himself, his art, and music in general is so obnoxious
“The singer and songwriter Lucy Dacus recalled a conversation with Toledo one night when the two were on tour. “He was like, ‘Lucy, what makes a good rock album, today?’ That was a question he wanted to answer. I was like, ‘Dude, I don’t actually care about the history of rock.’ Will, I think, cares a lot about it, and the place he can fill in history,” she said.
Depends what we separating
If it’s rape, you’re outta here idc. Anything else depends on the severity and circumstances. For example, if it’s on some YNW Melly s***, I’m not supporting the music anymore (dude was ass from the jump - this is just an example) but if it’s shooting a rival gang member like Snoop, I personally don’t mind.
Never. Art is an expression of the artist and nothing less. You are hearing their thoughts and no one else’s
this is so silly fam
pop artists have tens of writers on a song, and youre telling me we are hearing “their thoughts and no one else’s”

i don’t listen to pop
and their work is packaged as a product to sell more than a philosophical work

yes but it is still the listeners choice at the end of the day whether they want to seperate the art from the artist
using r kelly is an extreme example bc of course the majority of his lyrical content is overtly sexual and given the greater context it makes it basically impossible to just ignore
so with someone like that yes your point might make sense but it begins to falter when you apply this to an artist who may just have a different opinion on something than you do, like politically for example
