GETI THREAD
glad to see him getting so much love on here. been a fan for years and think he's one of the most underrated musicians of this generation. hopefully one day he gets the respect he deserves
feel like I need to catch up on his releases this year but I really like Captain Malena 2 which came out last week
also, haven't seen the Serengeti x Bulls crossover posted here yet. was so surprised and excited when I saw this lol
bought a Serengeti x Bulls shirt too, one of my favorites

Missed this post.
Had to make the thread, absolutely fell in love with his music last year. Such a joy digging deep into his discography. So unique and inventive. Definitely one the most underrated doing it.
And the Bulls remix is so dope. Such a cool thing to have as part of one's legacy.
Beyond excited for what should be a very busy year from him.
Getti previewed some new joints on ig live yesterday. Sounded fantastic. KDLPIV and Ajai II are coming as a double LP. Also played a remix of Dennehy by Sufjan Stevens. Album seems to be coming soon finally.

Double LP
Whip II out now!!!
Kaleidoscope 3 should be dropping next week. And then onto Kenny 4/Ajai 2
Kaleidoscope III out now (with autotune Geti on one track)
He's also dropped a second little EP called We Saw Mad Turtles.
Year of the Serengeti
love these two EPs and The Whip III. so glad to be getting these releases, he's really in his prime right now, and no other rapper has the versatility he does to make so many different kinds of music
like compare this weird techno pop rap style he's got nailed down
to this, kinda new and exciting to hear from him lo fi rap song
to an acoustic guitar and violin backed tribute to obscure wrestler Jim Long
people really sleeping man, hope one day Geti gets the flowers he deserves

Big facts.
Becoming a fan of his music has quite possibly been the most rewarding experience I've had of any artist.
So many gems to sift through. So many styles and experiments. Interconnected stories and characters. 20 years deep in his career and still dabbling in any sound he can. Absolutely the most versatile rapper around.
Cannot wait for the new Kenny. Hope that gets him some more acclaim as Ajai did.
INTRO TO AJAI II
PRODUCED BY CHILD ACTOR!!!

ITS F***ING NUTS
@marcusg @Sinewave @NIGHTMAN
Its tough to pick a clear cut starting point so i'll try and give a rough range, dependant on taste/mood.
Family and Friends - more conventional in sound but really great, hard hitting storytelling.
Saal - very bleak, orchestral/electronic production. If you like this then check out Dr My Own Patience.
Serengeti & Polyphonic - only one album on streaming, the other can be found here. https://audiorecon.bandcamp.com/album/select-choices
More experimental in sound.
For the Kenny Dennis universe the order is:
Dennehy
Kenny Dennis EP
Conversations with Kenny/Legacy of Lee
Kenny Dennis LP
Kenny Dennis III
Jueles Butterflies (pop album with a female singer)
Dennis 6E
Ajai
Ajai epilogue
Kdxmpc
Probably the best, most expansive and detailed world building in rap. So many hilarious details and really sad, human moments. Definitely a worthwhile journey however daunting it can seem. Amazing skits too.
Other stuff worth checking out:
Testarossa (with WHY?)
Yoome - June
Time & Materials (with Open Mike Eagle)
To The Max (more conventional)
Davis (more lo-fi)
The Moon EP (great storytelling)
With Greg From Deerhoof (more experimental)
The Gentle Fall (acoustic guitar and spoken word)
Dust EP (more conventional)
Quail (more pop)
Sisyphus (with Sufjan Stevens, Son Lux)
Just saved this to a note I keep on music, thank you so much

Swear I've seen on him some early R.A.P. Ferreira work and liked it but don't remember which songs
Thank you so much for this thread

They've somehow not actually worked together, amazingly enough.
R.A.P Ferreira is a fan though. And I'm pretty certain Serengeti would have been influential to him at some point.
AJAI might be a good starting point if you like R.A.P Ferreira. Fully produced by Kenny Segal

Maybe the Segal connection subconsciously told me

Yeah definitely one of those link-ups you would think had to have happened, especially considering Serengeti and Open Mike Eagle have a whole album together. Somehow never has
AJAI II is produced by Child Actor
KDLPIV is produced by Kenny Segal
Fully prod by Child Actor??
