It's fire man
The Sabbath attack thing you do is so dope, I just started playing after completing SMT V a 2nd time and its just as good as the tap turn system imo
Dungeons leave a bit to be desired but I'm enjoying exploring them more than I thought I would
Getting my ass beat by a boss rn tho
Sold less than soul hackers 3DS.

To be fair, consoles aren't a huge priority for Japanese gamers since they're mainly on their phones or other handhelds (3DS in SH1's case), so not too much of a surprise there. Only counting physical sales as well.

With how awful the marketing was I'm not surprised but damn
I'm copping a 3DS just to play SMT IV and apocalypse sometime this week, has anyone played any of the other 3DS games?
Specifically the Strange Journey redux?

All good games. Apocalypse being my favorite SMT game, despite everyone hating it lol.

that 3D Billboard they put up in Japan must had been worth a pretty penny lol. I don't know what else they did

hell pretty much all of the youtube promo was only available on the japanese atlus account and only like 1/3 of that was even translated into english or another language

Most complaints I've seen aren't fans of a couple plot points and that the game is very Persona-esque (and you probably know exactly how insufferable the "elitist" SMT fans can be. E.g. Persona = bad; not trying to dismiss valid complaints, but I think you kinda get the idea). It definitely leans towards Persona, but I really couldn't care less. If anything, I prefer it more in this game lol. I thought the Bonds ending was f***ing great too. Definitely my favorite SMT ending, period.
Suppose you don't like that, you still get the best combat in the series, so it's not a total loss.

shouldve been on switch

Sounds kinda fire tbh, definitely picking up IV and Apocalypse then
I'm still super on the fence about Strange Journey tho, the story and setting sound absolutely incredible but I've heard the dungeons can be a bit much?

As long as you go in knowing that (and you don't mind it), I think you'll be more than fine with Apocalypse. Did not expect to love that game as much as I do when I first started playing
For SJR, it's pretty great. I'd def give it a shot if you're passively interested in it.
The dungeons aren't bad or anything, but like you said, I found a couple of them to be a bit much, but they're not all awful to get through if that's what you were expecting. I'd look up some maps and you'll get an idea of how they can be. I was also on the fence with the dungeons and I enjoyed a majority of them, but there's two in particular that I think are just not fun at all.
Some people love these sorts of dungeons, but I just don't have the patience to deal with the trial and error of it all, so I just had a map open on my PC lol.
The atmosphere of the game is phenomenal. Kinda reminds me of Nocturne in a sense.
Music is also really good, as you can expect with SMT
