it's an uphill fight cause your whole political system is f***ed, but organizing, local community work, education... I think to large degrees this is an education problem. these ppl are just horribly mis-educated. eventually fighting your way upwards to repair where things already go wrong every day on top political levels, like redlining etc.

I think you're witnessing the trickle down effects of years and years of mismanaged government and policies that contribute to inequality, racism, classism, and just to too much precarity and fear in society in general. and it's become so f***ed that most sane ppl already feel checked out from engaging in politics entirely, but I also think that's how the insane ppl managed to take over. so basically I think it takes more sane ppl standing up and seeing how to contribute a little bit to fix this climate.

this is my take from the outside as I'm in Germland, I would say things here and in many countries on earth are basically the same, US is just on steroids with it

Yeah but im not talking about outspoken conservatives or Trump supporters here. I’m talking about the dumb chick I went to high school with who couldn’t name two senators and even some s***libs expressing condolences. My entire feed is people I wouldn’t even expect to know who Charlie Kirk was expressing condolences or shaming people who (rightfully)think the positives outweigh the negatives here.

It’s hard for me to accept that so many people I thought were ignorant to the state of things and fascism are actually perhaps proponents.

I sense the next election we will see a large Silent Majority movement towards conservatism even beyond the Trump cult ala Nixon and 1968. Scary times.
