You can't even say that everyone in these individual states are of a homogeneous political ideology. What's the point of splitting off a state like KY when not everyone in KY is a backwards conservative, just like not everyone in CA is a liberal Democrat? Why is that fair to the minority groups in those states, to now be stuck in a place that is no longer under an obligation to even PRETEND to represent their interests?
