I was born in Jersey but my parents are from North Carolina and Texas respectively. My Dad lives in Texas rn.

Also, there's much bigger differences between cities and rural areas than with states.

Rural parts of South Jersey, Upstate NY, and Western PA may as well be Dixie. Hell, I saw Confederate flags in some small towns by in CT after watching a UCONN basketball game. S*** blew my mind at first.
