Absolutely not, the whole thing's ridiculous, it's like having 'trans' be a slur, it's just a descriptor for someone whose gender aligns with what they were assigned at birth, people just seem freaked out at the idea of being categorised

I like Norm Macdonald's comedy, but he could be an old fogey at times, he once described the term cis as 'a way to marginalise normal people', which I think sums up the absurd panic around the word, people being like 'I'm NORMAL, don't give me an adjective! I'm not one of THEM'

anything can be a slur, it depends on how you say the word in a sentence. like if i have a gay friend and told someone that, that wouldnt be a slur, but if i called something gay, it would be. its about context of the full sentence
