Can I ask what you went to school for
You’ll likely need a car depending on where you live in Dallas. If you’re okay with driving everywhere for your necessities then it should be fine tho.

Biggest change but it’s probably easier than driving in nyc
I don't understand hoarding money to do nothing in a boring city
But if you're looking for a change of pace Dallas would certainly be that.
u dont understand wanting to save money for retirement or like buying property? lol

Not property in Texas lol sounds like hell on earth to me
My job sets me up with a decent retirement fund but it's not going to be worth much worth with inflation ballooning like this. I do need to start saving, just not at the cost of living somewhere I hate.

Moving to Dallas from NYC is basically saying to yourself "My life is now over"
I’m from Dallas. It’s actually a decent place to live. It’s a little more progressive than most think. You said you’re Arab. There’s an abundant Arab/muslim community down there especially near Plano Texas.
Cool music scenes, there’s a culture there just kinda small and tight knit.
I honestly wouldn’t move out of nyc tho. I’d take struggling over the suburban flight
@op 98k is literally minimum wage in NYC
Dudes really have no idea about life in high COL areas lirl
You are more than fine on 98k in NYC
I’m in NYC OP and I considered moving to Dallas or Houston suburbs but that’s only to buy a house and start a family. A nice house too not some rinky dink s***
I wouldn’t want to rent there or live in a basic condo/house
Texas is a terrible place to live man the blackout/politics/people/infrastructure isn’t worth it
Arabs are classified as white on the census technically
But ik im gonna be surround by some annoying whites for sure yes
You'll be fine in Dallas if you just stick to the popular spots. Also Fort worth and the in between areas have cool s*** too. If I lived there, I would spend my life at round 1
Seriously how bad is Dallas or what are some serious cons I should consider
Taking a 98k salary to no income tax Dallas is highly tempting but I’ve been in nyc all my life
I definitely wouldn’t want to stay but the opportunity to save money while also living way much better is crazy tempting
98k, no state income tax? Nigga pack your bags and head to JFK right f***ing now

Why would you buy anything in Texas knowing that climate change is real
NGL y'all kinda ruining my city, Texas as a whole too so tbh go to like Georgia or some s***.
New York is a terrible place with terrible customs. People bring that goofy s*** to Texas and we're already close to capacity ngl.
A lot of these old f***s are realizing Texas is being purple and starting to turn up to make an example. But like our economy/government can't handle all that and they bring that culture war s*** with them too.
To make an example out of all the transplants these old ass white folks are leaning harder into that bigotry and trump s***.
