I got a gaming laptop and kept my PS5, glad I made the decision
To get a great PC you need about $1.8-2K and I'm extremely OCD about optimization and troubleshooting so the time spent actually playing games on my PS5 would far exceed the time spent actually playing on PC
I’d say keep your PS5. However, it depends what games you want to play on PC vs the games you can play on PC and PS5.
You’ll need $1500 to get a PC that runs games similarly to the PS5
It’s a better experience overall, with mod communities, Steam sales, console commands, no paying for ps+, the list goes on, but it’s not as good of a deal as PS5
It’s definitely worth it if you’ll use the PC for other stuff, art, animation, music production, film editing etc.

It's possible, you just need a good deal on the GPU

I see you made the right decision. Welcome to the GOAT combo

You need a $500 gpu just to play new games at 4k 60fps on pc
then there’s $100 for windows OS, $200 for a good CPU, maybe you could get everything else for cheap in a bundle deal and build a pc for $1000.
But getting a good deal for a gpu is hard right now so this is a theoretical discussion
Nah, 700 dollars is not enough to build a quality PC. If you want my advice, if you've got $1200+ to build a nice PC with a 30XX graphics card and a high quality CPU, its worth it. you're gonna miss ragnarok, spiderman 2, wolverine and thats about it (and those games arent coming out for years). If you wanna couch game you can put your PC in the living room and plug in a TV. Plus as you said you can get game pass, you can emulate everything up to PS2/gamecube perfectly and also switch and even PS3 if you are willing to put in the work.
but if you dont have the cash for a high end PC, from my experience you're going to be frustrated trying to play the new AAA games such as Elden Ring, Halo Infinite, Forza 5, you're not gonna be running them on Ultra settings, you'd get better performance on PS5 for the games that aren't xbox/pc exclusive. And if you're only dropping 700 dollars, you're gonna be stuck on medium settings for 2022 and onward games like IO007, Starfield and whatever else (and maybe even worse performance tbh). To be honest, 700 bucks on a gaming PC and you're already outdated. If you don't have 1200+ its gonna be frustrating.
now, if you don't care about ultra settings and running the most demanding games at 60fps or at 1440/4k, then disregard the second paragraph
Like I said in op I'd prolly put in extra 300-500 for the pc
But you think I can get a good pc in the 1000-1500 range with how the gpu market is rn

Keep it and get a gaming laptop or save some more up and get a custom PC. And while you're at it then get a Nintendo Switch (OLED) or wait for what's next from Nintendo. If you can afford it so do I think it's worth it gaming on more than one platform

probably closer to 1500, if you're willing to build your own PC and you can get a hold of a 30XX GPU somehow then go for it, but thats easier said than done

what's the min you think you have to spend to get a good pc?
i'm on the same wave as op tryna sell my ps5

idk man, however much you can get a 30XX GPU for + like 600-800 bucks for the rest of the build. that will give you a high quality PC that'll last for a 5 years or so near the top end running new s*** well at 1440p. I havent built a PC in a few years and not since the 30xx came out and havent really been keeping tabs on them.
Keep the PS5
Don't know if GPUs are still that expensive but there's no need to change just get a low end PC in the future if you want to play certain games
