I agree that it’s kinda frustrating...like with Yeezys I love the designs but knowing that Kanye himself didn’t design the full shoe kinda sucks

But at the same time, because he has a whole team around him, all these different ideas and perspectives lead to us getting beautiful music/products

He has the ideas more or less on what he wants and just needs a team to bring his ideas to life/make them better

Naaah, I feel like with fashion it can work because obviously even though Kanye is into fashion, he is not a designer but if he hires some dope people they can come up with cool things under his curation.

With music we can see a big difference and not for the best between his first and last albums. He is a musician who made a lot of music himself literally, it's not going to be the same if he passes his pen to somebody else or says to Mike Dean ''make it darker'' instead of doing this music himself.

One a***ogy that I've come up is, probably not accurate but first Kanye albums are Starring Kanye West, later albums are Directed by Kanye West and Donda is almost like Kanye West presents. Just yesterday I saw a poster of a movie made by not known director, but at the top it had Martin Scorsese presents.

    Mmm Hmm

    Yes.

Original verses from ye have always been better

    Eh

That Jesus lord verse is better than literally everything I’ve heard from him in at least 5 years. If he wrote Life of Party then I’ll give him that but I don’t think he did

No, Ye stans on here see the fact that he curates more instead of writing as a sign of artistic growth is dumb.

That delegating has been found in artists of various fields, such as Katsushika Hokusai, later in their careers

I don’t have a stance on this other than idc as long as the music is amazing, but I don’t know why you wouldn’t want a song like Jesus Lord to exist just bc he might’ve not wrote it. Putting out amazing s*** is the end goal of music

yall gotta understand kanye 44 and has already proven himself. I dont think he feels the need or motivation to pickup the pen. I feel like life of the party was his first time writing a whole verse in awhile cause he was so motivated to spit after the drake s***. But overall he just makes music for fun now

Idk anyone who considers Kanye as having artistically grew in any fashion since Yeezus, so you should be mad at them for having that stance at all, forget the lyricist part

Thing is that with these reference tracks leaking and stuff is that we don't actually know the process and how it went.

Take Off the Grid for example, everyone saying that Pusha T came up with the flow, but why would Kanye then do a mumble take of the hook (as heard on the album) after Pusha wrote it?

For example how I think it actually went:
Kanye does the mumble reference with the flow > Pusha T does a reference with actual lyrics > Kanye doesn't use what Pusha T wrote and just uses the mumble reference anyway.

And even if someone wrote a verse for him (e.g Violent Crimes), I'm sure he was probably talking with the writer about what he wanted to have in the verse. Can't really say that he's completely disconnected from the process lol

Credits for Donda updated on spotify today and added some more producers and writers to credits. Kaycyy writing credit added to Praise God and KMSA, not many other writers added. More reason to believe Ye wrote most of his verses on Donda?

Dude, that's coping, I think I stated somewhere in this thread that my main problem is perception of it. People either believe that Kanye writes everything himself or that he gets a little help here and there when actually he is not ashamed to use the whole damn song.
I compared it to kpop, and with this comments like He is probably talking to the writer, it really reminds me of cases when in kpop there be 3 writers and one girl from group credited and then people start praise her like she wrote the whole thing just because they like their fave.
