Lupe Fiasco set the blueprint for the mainstream lyrical rap album. The Cool out now.
Blueprint was the blueprint
That's real like absoul said the kendrick on damn was just k.dot kendrick.
Yup
He always had different flows. Kendrick making an album like DAMN makes a lot more sense than some people realize

He really did
Then Kendrick came along and perfected it
Lupe could’ve benefited from better production tbh
His first 2 albums always gonna be classics though

T&Y lowkey as good as TPAB
T&Y lowkey as good as TPAB
It’s a good album but Kendrick has a better ear for beats so it’s not as much of a task to sit through his albums
When it comes to lyrics Lupe is out of this world. Not many people can rap like him but Kendrick knows how to take a beat and make the most of it
Even FlyLo mentioned that Kendrick doesn’t get enough credit as a producer
It only worked for Kendrick and Krit
Redemption and AABA are garbage
KOD & Crash Talk are cool

What's ur opinion on t&y production I think the production is actually really good on that project

It didnt even work for krit, the album was a step back and he sold less
Yeah and that’s exactly why I asked
Those albums are definitely an attempt to go pop
I mean q himself said crash talk was one
What exactly was “pop” on KOD? Lol s*** is a bunch of rap songs and kill edward features. How is that anything like damn?

The production, the flow, just the style that surround the project I considered going pop, that style that was used on all those albums in the op is atypical for the artist
I mean cole was hating on the rappers that popularized that style on everybody dies then went and use it on his album
Joey badass who blew up for having an old ny boom bap sound switch totally to a project that is very poppy
I actually like that song lol, I’d get why some wouldn’t though. Never been huge on west coast hip hop which is probably why it’s not one of my favs by him but Kenny can do no wrong.
That we can both agree on
I really wish they would stop
Nah bro its absoul's turn he the only one left from black hippy to not do so
What's ur opinion on t&y production I think the production is actually really good on that project
I thought it was decent
For some reason I think the drums could’ve been better
