I worked as a cashier/bagger at Hannaford Supermarket in high school. The day before Thanksgiving was a mad rush and business was booming.

At the end of the 8hr shift I heard from one of my bosses how much the store made. I excitedly announced to another, older cashier “we just made $80,000!”. And he responded “no, WE made about $88”

That’s when I knew. Workers deserve socialism

Kinda leaves no room for other expenses or stuff like growth/investment, etc. their total operating expenses were at 11B in 2020 already. Salary and wage expense made up 4.7B of that. So 6.3B + 10.5B for a total expense of 16.8B on 19B revenue.

2.2B is not a lot of profit to sustain growth for a company as big as McDonald’s.
