Due to recent events, I would like to pose a question to KTT2, it doesn't have to be just music, it can be anything like movies, tv shows, animations etc.

Well yea. Why would I support an immoral person?

Immoral as In a criminal or along those lines

I used to like the band Lostprophets but the lead singer was convicted of f***ing kids so I never listened to them again. If it is cut and dry like that and some completely unforgivable evil s*** I can't listen to their music anymore. But for example something like what Vic Mensa said about X there is some leeway to forgive, it's not like he doesn't have a soul.

You can’t judge the morality of someone you’ve never met. We don’t know these people and we’ll never know what truly goes on behind the scenes, especially when they’re all performers putting on an image and making up narratives. Most of the bigger artists/athletes/actors have company-sized organizations behind them distorting info, manipulating networks, blogs, public opinion. I think the best policy is to enjoy the art if it’s good - expecting to know enough about entertainers personally that you could make accurate moral judgements is unreasonable imo, kind of an offshoot of stan culture in a sense where you’re just obsessed and personally relating to the celebrity and have real life expectations from them

I think it’s a judgement people can and should make for themselves (esp considering evidence/legal judgements of guilt) but you shouldn’t guilt/shame people either way. If you’re too grossed out by x celebrity to listen that’s fine I think but you should recognize that someone else might be able to separate that person from the art better. And vice versa.

Depends. I don't care if an artist is an a****** but if it's something like R.Kelly or Kevin Spacey I don't want nothing to do with them or the weirdos who defend them so I avoid their works for the most part.

So your saying yes but they would have to cross a certain line that you don't tolerate.

Morals should effect what music you listen to

  • Sep 25, 2020

It depends on how much you stand by your own morals and principles

    To some: yes
    To others: no

maybe should affect whether you are giving you their money or not

if the artist is such a bad person that its distracting when im listening to the music, then i probably wont listen. but that never really happens with me, only in a case like that pedo dude someone mentioned. i think some people cant really listen to some artists because they just think of the bad things associated with them, i respect that

I mean, u can try and look at the greater picture, some people make great art, whether it be music, visual, writing,

And have problematic things about them

u just gotta think about it

nobody can tell u what to like really

I mean Adidas was made by Nazis n s*** everybody wears their shoes

Kanye did what he did the past few years, I'ma still appreciate some of the best music to ever be created

A lot of great philosophers, end up saying some wild s***, problematic, or even hateful stuff, but then contribute some of the most influential writing to us tbh
