nah that would become very oppressive but with neurology becoming very important to access peoples mental states i think we should see what people are susceptible to before having children

  • Apr 21, 2024

So you’re asking if we should have a eugenics policy?

  • Apr 21, 2024

There are countless ways this system could be used for sinister purposes. With society and human nature being what it is, there is far more potential bad than good that could come from it.

I'm simply trying to promote discourse. I'm not saying one side is inherently right.

I will say, however, that there are a bunch of people running around unfit to be parents, whether they are convicted felons, severe mental health issues, chronically unemployed. Not sure if it would be fair to kids to grow up in that environment. Additionally, I think having a parent license would strive for people to do better in their lives to obtain one which would benefit society as a whole.

On the flipside, it certainly is an invasion of free will and liberty. I agree with @Noir in that this system could be abused.

Just trying to pose a fun hypothetical, that's all.

    Corporations need low wage workers.

  • Apr 21, 2024

I'm sure it wouldn't be rife with racism and discrimination

  • Apr 21, 2024

Why not just solve those problems you listed?

I'm not saying OP is right but I've met some people who I definetly think should have gone through some sort of course before they brought a child into this world

  • Apr 21, 2024

I think there should be support and free lessons bht a license is crazy

Even if the licensing process was fair and unbiased (it wouldn’t be), wtf woikd the punishment for this look like? Take your kid away? Forced sterilization?

There’s like no possible implementation of this that isn’t insanely f***ed up

I do believe there are some undesirable people largely due to genetics but I’m aware that’s dangerous territory and can get wicked and racist real quick.
