damn its depressing?
I find it more depressing than Mad Men and Sopranos. I always thought it kinda paved the way for Mad Men characters psychology and some storylines as well.

Oh hell yeah so this is big on character study then
I just watched the first episode tonight and I feel like im in for a wild ride
did you ever finish it?
did you ever finish it?
man I watched like 7 eps and then I got caught up in some other shows. I def have to pick it back up, I was liking the unique vibe
So I’m finally watching this show cause I’m going through older HBO s*** rn cause I got Max. Close to halfway through (just finished episode 4 of season 3).
Enjoyed Season 1 but kind of felt procedural at times, also absolutely hated the Billy storyline. Season 2 was a step up and I liked how they started to grow more confident with their writing of the characters (absolutely hated Brenda’s storyline in this season and so glad she’s gone for now at least lol). Now I’m on Season 3, and I’ve been expecting a slight fall off but it really just keeps getting better as they continue diving deeper and getting more brave and confident with the writing. The characters are amazing. The actress who plays Claire is outstanding too bad she didn’t really break out after this show.
Man there hasn't been anything like it ever since... Do have any recommendations on similar shows? Closest I've seen is, outside of Alan Ball's other work, probably Leftovers, Rectify and would even say Haunting of the hill house lmao
Funny you mentioned Leftovers cause there’s def some of that occasionally, but I’d definitely lean more towards a Lost comp as far as Lindelof’s work goes.

Can’t wait until I get to see it
Yo the end of Season 3 got me f***ed up, the way Lisa just disappears without warning when things finally start to look up and there’s not even any closure
Was so surprised that Season 3 doesn’t get more love in people’s rankings of the seasons I’ve seen online, really loved it. But I can totally see why Season 4 gets panned a bit, it’s definitely been all over the place.
Episode 5 of Season 4 had me mega shook tho
iite so I’m at episode 5 of season 5 and I feel like all these characters are in such an unlikeable place rn I can’t imagine how this is going to end with me liking any of them, and I certainly can’t see how the finale goes down as the most wildly celebrated finale OAT, so I am very curious
Just finished season 5 episode 9 whether Nate did actually die for real or not this time, he’s an absolute piece of s\*\*\* for what he did at the end of that episode. If he did die, that’s probably the biggest a\*\*\*\*\*\* ending to a fictional life I’ve ever seen in TV
Also do you think Maggie was going to the doctor because she is pregnant?
I was wondering this too
Alright so I finally watched the finale and I am rekt of course
That being said, I’m not sure I would say that it’s as obviously the GOAT series finale as everyone makes it out to be. The ending scene was obvi beautiful and moving, but the rest of the episode was just solid to me. Season 5 in general was definitely better than 4, but I still feel strongly like Season 3 was its peak.
Also, it’s a damn shame that Lauren Ambrose ended up doing a lot of s***ty projects after this show. She was such an amazing actress in this (right there with Michael C Hall), and if it wasn’t 20 years later, I would just assume that she was gonna be the next big thing in Hollywood.
Last post — Perfect Circles is still my fav episode of this show btw, I would without question put it above the series finale.
